Respectfully disagree with you Fatdad.
Cooper and Morris would have made THE DIFFERENCE in Game II together with Creagh working together. Just see their (Creagh, Cooper, B.Morris') record/tries against Folau and Hodges (Broncos) the last time the Dragons played the Broncos. They could have taken advantage of the weak link caused by Hodges leaving the field and Tonga and Hunt taking their time to find their feet.
Soward's long kicking game would have exhausted those QLD forwards in the 2nd half of Game II. Pity, I can't remember seeing any long kicks from the Blues being fielded within the QLD 20m zone.
Interesting what has been said about Bozo and Lyon.

Bozo Fulton is as bent as they come..
Heres the REAL deal..
A player gets 15 grand for Origin duty plus another 5 grand per Origin game..
Get picked in Origin and play all 3 games and you ar 30 grand better off and its not in the SALARY CAP...
Get selected in a TEST team and its 20 Grand automatic and 10 per game..

......................... ..
Heres where Fulton is a crook..
Jamie Lyon was still in England and signed a contract with Manly for X amount..
Fulton "selects" him for the Test team and Origin team although Lyon was only just back in the country...
So in reality Jamie Lyon was handed and extra 60 grand for 4 games by Fulton and thrust back in Origin and National teams..

Punters can ask how did Lyon get promoted so fast when he returned from the UK..
Answer is simple,,Fulton used the rep games to beat a way around Manlys salary cap...He was even overheard bragging about the quick cash and how Shubert couldnt do a thing...
At present we have KITE getting the same "bonus" off Manly/Fulton and the rep team selection..

I can understand calls for Soward without agreeing with them. But Cooper and Morris would not have made a difference.

Because it is Lockyers last game, NSW is going to put a useless overrated tubby Manly player against him, and allow Lockyer to go out on the high note that he deserves.
A very sporting gesture indeed.
But , I look forward to seeing Lyon run one of his many 50 m crossfield runs

Re:Blues replacements for Game 3 Reply to this message
Just heard over at Fox Sports that Jamie Lyon is a serious contender for the NSW 5/8 spot in Game III. Come on, is this a joke???
How the hell can the supporters convince the selectors NOT to go with Jamie Lyon at 5/8? Jamie should in fact not be considered for any position for NSW in Game III. He showed us how, in Games I and II, that he can't play Origin anymore. What more do the selectors have to see???
I imagine it would be Bozo (and his beloeved Sea Eagles) at the centre of all this again!!!! What a kwackkkkkkkk.
What more do the Dragons' Jamie Soward, Matt Cooper and Brett Morris have to do to make selection for Game III???
Here's a toast a Maroonwash for 2009...

Something that should have been done from game one: Replace their meals with nourishing air.

If you want to eat, Get out there and win.

Wallace must be replaced .... chubby Mark Tookey could have played half better !!!

Oh, and Simpson ain't that small mate. He's 6ft 2 and 104 Kgs. That's enough if his only job is to full pelt into the line 15 times in 20 minutes or 20 times in 30 minutes.

If Hindy, Simpson, Cooper and Noddy came back, that's 50 SOO games experience back on the park for the Blues. Hindy has 16, Simpson and Coops have 13 each and Noddy has 8.

We went missing in that first 20 completely in both games, and battle hardened blokes who know what to expect may well have been the difference. We went missing in the trenches.

Re:Blues replacements for Game 3 Reply to this message
Cheers Dragonkumul. I think we're on the right track more than the friggin bozos in the selection room, bozo included. Why do we leave our choices in the hands of a guy called Bozo?

The only other change I would suggest is to either pick Kimmorley for the next 2 years or pick Hornby for the next 3-5 years next to Soward. And I prefer Wing to Gids on the bench.

So, unfortunately, I say Gidley has to go entirely. The only way you can keep him in the side with a real halfback is at 1, with Hayne at 4 to get him closer than a wing position, Jennings at 5 and J Morris gets the boot.

The other concern is that if Brett Stewart was not being a retard, he would slip straight in, You'd still have B Morris and Cooper on one side with Hayne and Jennings on the other and Wing on the bench. So Gids still doesn't cut it. He's good, but not great and his confidence was WAYYY down.

Good bye Gids. Bring back Noddy or Hornby with Soward. It is a no brainer.

Re:Blues replacements for Game 3 Reply to this message
Welcome your suggestions and comments Smeg.
Soward - Creagh - Cooper - Morris - Try, seem to be the consistent and most repeated names and words spoken together in a sentence at any Dragons game as of late!
Any experienced big man prop to replace Weyman is welcome. Simpson seems a to be a bit on the light end in terms of weight. Joel Clinton would be the name I would welcome to the mix, he has never stopped trying!!
Again the selectors pose the biggest hurdle.

Simpson won't get in, he has had to many injuries in the last couple of years.

Should've added - is Chris Houston available? He'd be more likely than Simpson I think.

Re:Blues replacements for Game 3 Reply to this message
I know a lot of people bagged Weyman, but once he's out it's hard to see who can replace him.

Learoyd-Lahrs had a good game against Melbourne apprently and will probably come in, although he's more a back-rower than a prop.

Re:Blues replacements for Game 3 Reply to this message
I would put Mullen at 7 and Gidley on the bench, Gidley hasn't really got the passing game, more of a creates chances off flicks after he makes a break. He is also not a genuine kicker, the kicks he makes at times are terrible. Mullens left to right passes are like bullets, and his kicking game is great aswell along as he doesn't try the small kicks like he does sometimes.

Re:Blues replacements for Game 3 Reply to this message
I like your side there dragonkumul.

I'd look at Simpson though instead of White or Ogre or L Lahrs. Experienced at that level having 13 games for NSW. I know he's usually a 2nd row but he has played prop before for many games. And if you just give him hit ups, he's big enough to pull it off.

The other genuine Prop I'd look at is Joel Clinton. Even though the ponies leaked 138 in 3 games and lost their last one a little closer, he hasn't missed 1 tackle in 4 games. That defence might have been handy in Game 2. Handy indeed.

And as for your backs, I think you've got the balance right. However, I would swap Jennings to 4 and Cooper to 3, to at least line up the Sts current left hand side.

Soward to Creagh, offload to Cooper to B Morris down the touchline. It seems to be working wonderfully for Wayne Bennett and the comp leading Dragons. I'd like to try it for NSW. :o)

Re:Blues replacements for Game 3 Reply to this message
With Weyman out of Origin III, i beleieve NSW still need to play 4 props. Brett White, O'Melley or Josh Perry could be called onto the bench, while Justin Poore starts at 8.
Team would be:
1. Hayne;
2. B.Morris;
3. M. Jennings;
4. M. Cooper;
5. J. Morris;
6. J. Soward;
7. K. Gidley;
8. J. Poore;
9. M. Ennis;
10. B. Kite;
11. Hindmarsh;
12. B. Creagh;
13. L.O'Donnell;
14. Wing;
15. T.Leoroyd Lars
16. Perry or Ogre or White and
17. A. Watmough.
Well balanced side in attack, defence, youth and experience. Just hope the selectors see enough sensse to pick this team...

Re:Blues replacements for Game 3 Reply to this message
Mullen played cr@p last night and was lucky Souths only had Roy playing well in the pack...........

Asotasi played the full 1st half against the knights and Souths cut the Knights ruck area to pieces with the Newcastle halves being nothing more than turnstyles.
Asotasi went off for 20 minutes and so did Souths agression and NC scored 3 quick tries.
When Roy returned for the final 15min the Rabbitohs once again dominated the ruck area and Mullens defence was tested and failed..
I know Roy is only 1 player but QLD have a full pack of agro forwards who will run over Mullen..
He proved last night that against a decent attack he isnt up to it.
Knights won but only when Souths went flat.
QLD wont go into SOO flat..

Re:Blues replacements for Game 3 Reply to this message
Although Mullen was pretty hopeless last time I saw him in rep football he is probably the best answer at the moment. I recall a certain A Johns who added "Experienced as Speed Bump and Punching Bag" to his resume after his first attempt at rep footy, and eventually came good.
Noddy has been recalled, dropped, blamed and generally shattered too many times to hope for any sort of consistencey from him. Wallace seems to be headed for the same sort of treatment.
