I dont like Wallace either, it was inexcusable.
It should have been Mullen, but the bloke is held together by sticky tape.
Soward has the game in attack, that can not be questioned, although after his first 20 metres, which is fast, he is deceptively slow. |

I am a scabby old mole thankyou, not your run of the mill type. And Bennett would not allow that much ground to be wasted just to get a kick away. Don't forget, if Soward doesn't chase for the tackle, there's ANOTHER 10m.
Let's assume Soward gets the ball a more reasonable 10m behind play. With an average kicking distance of 35m, are you suggesting the Dragons AVERAGE net gain from Sowards kicks is really only 15m?
It isn't even so much the distance he gains though, it is the fact his kicking is more effective. Early in game 2 Wallace was receiving the ball on last tackle well behind the line but NSW were gaining great territory. Why, kicks were going to ground, not straight to QLD's back 3.
The metre gain is only PART of one's kicking game, it must also be effective. |

I disagree. You numbers are skewed and only placate foolish minds.
Soward jumps on blokes once they have been belted by a back-rower playing centre. He gives away 25 Metres of ground to get a kick away without chancing a tackle.
So yes, it is a waste of time to target him, post round 1, when Uncle Wayne tweaked the defensive structure.
The best defender for a halfback if Jeff Robson, absolute animal, useless as Scott Minto with ball in hand, but a good defender. I am not going to look up his stats, as I do not take it up the anoooos, but I would be surprised if he doesn't miss his fair share of tackles, due to the fact that he requires no body guard and is required to drag down back rowers one on one.
Rugby League Stats are facts, but not by your reasoning.
They state who made more tackles, who missed more, but in no way suggest someones readiness for SOO, or who is actually the better defender.
Who made the big hits and roughed up a few blokes when he came on in SOO 2? Oh thats right, the worst Defender in the NRL, E-Tag Watmough.
I rest on your face. |

It's bias to produce numbers to back an opinion? That means it is an opinion backable with facts.
And are you suggesting Soward gets protection in defence or for kicks? He is, and this is again backable with numbers, one of the more efficient defensive halves. Sandow, Wallace and Lockyer are far worse but make far more tackles. Why, because it is a waste of time targeting Soward. Probably only Morris and Cronk are miles ahead of the others. |

| The facts are that Kimmorley and Anoooos miss most of their tackles flying through on a kick chase to make first contact and run the big boys onside. |

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
DALLY M?
An award with such prestigious judges as daley and matty johns? hahahahahaha. And wiz freeman. hahahahaha
Good arguement, an award for dominant club players as an SOO arguement?
Save us.
As I said yesterday, I would have Farah there, I prefer him, and with exposure, can adjust his game to suit SOO. But the arguements are flawed. TCTM's by bias, and the last one by idiocy. |

smeg you should change your name to nonsense.
you obviously have never played a games of tackle with all that mongrel shananigans. The biggest mongrel i ever saw was terry lamb but he couldnt play SOO. Les boyd was a mongrel but he did nothing either.
time will tell but ennis has missed more tackles than most hookers. As for Robbie not been able to play against big teams, well you have proven what a joker you are. He missed out on the dally m's by one point in 2007. He has outplayed cameron smith, ennis and dean young over the past 4 years. Degois had to leave the tigers so did shane flanagan.
Ennis will sledge if and only if his forwards lay the platform for a victory. he is pest and nothing more. kimmorley has made him look good at the doggies but unfortunately he cant perform at SOO level. Bellamy is one of gthe main reasons why there is no team harmony. He has plenty of mongrel by the way. he was also a great reserve grader at canberra. |

Smeg, are you suggesting that EVERY State of Origin player has "the mongrel" in them? Over the past three years Farah has out played both Cameron Smith and Danny Buderus at both club and rep level.
He then belted piss and pick handles out of Country this year topping the tackle count (41 with ZERO misses) and three try assists. Where was Ennis' mongrel that night? Oh yeah, it was missing tackles and conceding penalties.
The mongrel is a myth. You know it, I know, everyone knows it. What is required at Origin level is heart. Sorry to say it Smeg, but every time Ennis' heart has been tested he has failed miserably.
Besides, if Ennis is so full of this rumoured mongrel why was he voted the NRL's biggest sook? |

I understand that some may see me as bias, but that's not the case.
To the palooka who thinks I'm a Saints fan, wake up drongo. I follow the Titans.
And as for Soward playing 15 hot games in a year, I would rather that than a guy who played 15 hot games in a decade. Robbie doesn't have the mongrel needed at SOO level. Fact.
Ennis does. I also wish Michael Monaghan was still here instead of the UK, because he would suit SOO well also. And I care what any of you say, Michael Ennis would not have missed that tackle.
Farah is custard. He has played some good games against dodgy opposition but hasn't dominated any of the big guns.
And as for the premiership card you tried to play, Benji Marshall had a blinder that day, flick pass and all and they had a guy at 7 by the name of Prince who you might have heard of.
If you want to play that card, then maybe Prince should be the 7 for Qld because he beat Thurston that day, hands down. Farah is a good NRL player, but Ennis will be better at SOO level. |

its not robbie's fault he made the rabbits look fourth rate. no other team has beaten souths by that score this year. In fact they are still a hope to make semis if they can get their act together. One small little itsy bitsy thing too, those stats include 3 tigers loses out of 4 and Ennis are 3 wins from 4. hmmmm should'nt the stats be in favour of ennis?
Bottom line is NSW will get smashed in the third game because they are more talented not because they are better sledges.
Oh yes Buderas. Dont forget he was trhe hooker in the last 3 series loses so he can stay in England |

I would pick Farah.
I just don't like stats and people who attempt to back up opinions without understanding them.
Farah is being punished for playing injured.
We will have to wait and see. Farah's first two games were quite poor, so Ennis could really cement a place. Farah played too instictively, he really needed to change his game to suit SOO, but he hasn't. Yet.
The best part about Grub Smith for QLD is that you barely notice he is out there, and he always takes the markers out. Farah overplayed a tad, and got caught by the markers a few times. |

ahh yes lets forget about the stats and that Robbie has a grand final ring and played nearly 50% more first grade games than Ennis even though they are the same age. And lets put our trust with a player who will get under the skin of the opposition.
The Maroons will treat any sledging from that goose with contempt.
one thing ennis has without peer is clubs. he should be on the PGA tour. |

Keep sprouting stats boys. Confirm your "knowledge"
I wonder if Ennis would create more if Moltzen was calling for the ball instead of Kimmorley? Ahhh, forget it, surely the other players in the team are not relevant......morons. |

De goise is better than Ennis without doubt but he does not control and dominate a game like Robbie Farah.
Stats for the last 4 games speak for themselves... Ennis Try 0 Try assist 1 Runs 14 Tackle bust 1 Offload 0 Linebreaks 0 Linebreak assist 1 Tackles made 119 Tackles missed 15 Forced drop out 4 Penalties conceded 5 Errors 4 Farah Try 2 Try assist 5 Runs 30 Tackle bust 12 Offload 4 Linebreaks 2 Linebreak assist 7 Tackles made 116 Tackles missed 12 Forced drop out 7 Penalties conceded 1 Errors 5
God help the Cowboys when they play the Tigers at Leichhardt on Sunday week especially if Big Keiff Galloway is back. |

| If your looking for a defensive hooker, forget Farah and Ennis, Isaac Degois sh1ts on both of them. Has made more then 100 more tackles but doesn't run as much as Ennis or Farah. Unfortunately I can't find other stats as stupid nrl website changed there layout on player statistics |

Farah also topped the NSW tackle count with 34 and only 2 misses, nest closest was O'Donnell with 32 and 1. Ennis is shown up in defence week in, week out. In the game against the Dragons he missed ELEVEN tackles. In fact five out of the 15 games he has played this year he has missed five or more. Farah's most is 4.
Why pick him? He is the daddy of all turnstiles and will be made to look every part of it by QLD. On top of that he concedes penalties - frequently. All he has is a mouth and there is nobody in this QLD side he will shake in the slightest with his sledging.
Double the missed tackles of Farah, twice the penalties conceded, half the line breaks, half the line break assists, nearly half the average metres run, less than half the tackle breaks and 3 fewer try assists all from three more games.
I am glad they picked Ennis. Seventh best hooker available. |

hey smeg you galah
robbie had a shocker but so did 10 others.
you must be a aint george supporter if you wanna pick soward after 15 rounds of good football in his whole career. blame your mate justin poore as well for that falou try as he was masquarading a traffic cop when falou ran at him and robbie. Gidley is over rated he should be on the bench. Hayne is the best player NSW followed by daylight. Aint george buddy, aint won anything lately and aint gonna win soon. still scared from 2005 semi when Robbie destroyed your paper champion team. |
