It's because nsw pick big players not the best, they have for the past 3 years and that's why we don't win. You have to choose the best to be the best.

I'm still bewildered as to how the 2nd worst defensive forward can be picked for SOO. Watmough must have impressed the selectors with his toughness in belting the Manly sponsor at their season launch.

Agree Idris and big Tommy L- Lahrs are built for games like this and so is Brett Morris the kid has raw speed and you cant coach it and you cant coach against it...

Re:Blues replacements in Game 2 Reply to this message
Nothing wrong with Morris mate.

But if you're going to pick someone from left field, go with Idris. That kid is a freak and a friggin big freak at that!

But Morris is a standby mate. Wolfman's in instead.

I don't really like him but I'd prefer Monaghan. He's been there and is big enough to hold his own in the air.

The only potential inclusion I am happy about is Tom L-Lahrs. That kid is another giant.

I look forward to a time in a few years when Idris, Lawrie and Le Lahrs are all out there. Hopefully another few giants rear their heads soon too. The bigger the better.

Re:Blues replacements in Game 2 Reply to this message
Seriously though, let's have a look at this process.

OK, Anasta is in the side coming last and so is Pearce, so we won't pick them.

Canberra are coming 13th. Let's pick their 5/8. He must be going great.

Oh, he wasn't that good was he? Oh well.

I KNOW!

Let's pick the guy running the 2nd last placed side around. He'll go great!

Ummm, what about the guy in the side coming 1st with 2 byes still up their sleeves?

No experience. Can't risk it.

Well, what about the Dally M player of the year and grand final winning half?

Nah, he's missing something.

Seriously, on form you'd have Soward and Kimmorley at the moment.

But instead, they whell out Barrett from the archives. Madness.

As long as Barrett does all the kicking, he'll go great.

Wallace vs Wallace? I don't think either of them can win in the form he is in.

Re:Blues replacements in Game 2 Reply to this message
Congrats Qld. The NSW selectors just handed you the series on a platter!

Barratt vs Soward? Why? Past failure made to look good by Johns or Fittler vs competition kick metre leader and best form 5/8 in the league by a country mile.

Watmough vs Laffranchi? More line breaks yes but more missed tackles and more penalties too. So he may score one or set one up, but he will lead to 2 tries against.

Gallen = more penalties. Gave 3 away in game 3 last year. Can only pray his injury saves us all from his stupidity.

3 Props instead of 4? Last game showed the 4 Prop system was the only thing that kept us in the game. We just didn't make as much of the opportunities it created.

Cooper not even re-considered but Morris yes, Wolfman is great but he is not tall enough to stop the tall Qld backs.

Qld 34, NSW 16 at best.

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRR RGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

Re:Blues replacements in Game 2 Reply to this message
Soory guys but as a maroon supporter I can never write off the blues no matter how scraggly their team appears to be or how much they portray themselves as the underdogs.

They are always very dangerous and must be treated with respect as they are quality players that if a few penalties and the bounce of the ball goes their way then the will get their tails up then it is look out which way did they go.

If Gidley plays as bad as he did in the first game I would say 50 plus to nil.

That bench is looking a little on the smaller side.
Would have liked to have seen another larger, power forward in there over Stewart OR Watmough.

Apologies, some changes: 11 would be O'Donnell and 17 would be Lafranchi pushing out Watmough.

Not sure if I heard correctly but during Monday Night Football the commentators were talking about Luke Bailey being available for Origin.

If he was truly from the south of the border, when he wrote NSW on his card, it should have been in crayon and mis-spelt
