Re:Tonights game Reply to this message
Well, well. Hasn't that put the final places into a spin. Jason Taylor must be pulling his hair out wondering where the hell that's been for the last 2 months. I thought they were a chance of winning but geez, not by that many!

So the Doggies look set to take the Minor Premiership (deservedly so) and my Titans get a shot at finishing in 2nd spot. I reckon the Saints will lose to the Eels and the Titans would have to bring their A game to beat Manly at Brooky but it's do-able.

Where will they all finish when the music stops?

It would have been great if Souths were in the top 8 and were playing like the did tonight.

So happy to eat my words. Fark me where have Souths been all year? This is a great scoreline.

Careful as Bennett coaches his teams to come home in the 2nd half.

Re:Tonights game Reply to this message
Nah, you're wrong Nev.

There are 2 refs in the box, and they play scissor paper rock to decide if its a try, and sometimes they both keep on picking paper for ages and it takes a while to decide.

Re:Tonights game Reply to this message
I would like to know if the video ref has a couple of cartons of grog in the fridge in his little office and that is why it takes him so long to make a decision.

You know "Oh $hit I better decide the outcome over a beer"!

Re:Tonights game Reply to this message
I agree he didn't have control if it, but I saw no separation. It shouldn't have been a try, but under the interpretation they've been using this year it was.

Re:Tonights game Reply to this message
The interpretation they've used all year looks at separation. There WAS separation. there was no downward pressure. There was no control (relevant only to commentators though, has never been a requirement).

What interpretation are you referring to BK?

If it is a call on a Brisbane player award it regardless?

Re:Tonights game Reply to this message
Glenn clearly lost control of the ball, and should have been no try. NO matter what the rule or interpretation is, there should be consistency every week and every match, but it doesnt happen.

I often wonder if the delay with the video ref decisions is because the video ref is looking up the weekly updated interpretations sent by Robert Finch , which seem to vary from week to week.

Re:Tonights game Reply to this message
Blame the Sydney media, including the Channel 9 call team for video refs not being allowed to rule on forward passes.

Glenn's try was fair under the interpretation they've been using all year.

Re:Tonights game Reply to this message
While i am a Bongos fan and am glad they won, i agree that all the calls went their way. However the defense was good. Taylor was nullified due to some great defence. He has got to get wiser and run smarter lines. He will get better with age.
Parra look to be unstoppable atm and should be favorites. With Stewart back the beagles should also be on fire. If current form is anything to go by it will be Parra v Beagles/ Bulldogs in the big one.

Re:Tonights game Reply to this message
Yeah, not really a performance to put fear into potential finals opponents. I wondered how long it would take for a team to put a defender on the right to take on Taylor. O'Donnell was perfect for it. gave him a couple of good belting and Taylor fair dinkum looked like he was gonna cry.

Re:Tonights game Reply to this message
Cowboys are owned by the video ref, so last night is nothing new.
Cowboys lost to Broncos in round 1 19-18, and would have won , but a fair try was disallowed because Corey Parker deliberately ran into the decoy runner, took a dive, and video ref Bill "the Broncolover" Harrigan, awarded the obstruction
Take the 4 points off the Broncos, and award them to NQ, and the ladder positions are totally different.
but neither side has the potential to make the PF anyway with their performances over the last month.

Re:Tonights game Reply to this message
Bloody oath Hung. I would love to hear an explanation on how the Alex Glenn try was awarded. How can you get benefit of the doubt when there is none? He lost it cold. Seperation - yes. Downward pressure - no.

Ergo, no try.

Re:Tonights game Reply to this message
The cowboys got shafted on that one. Falou scored from a pass that was a mile forward and the Glenn try was a blatant knock on. How they got benift of the doubt on that one i will never no.

On a better note my mighty Eels are on fire!

They played awsome footy and i can't wait for next Friday. Bring on the Dragons!

Re:Tonights game Reply to this message
Broncos got a few handy calls tonight. 1st try off a blatant forward pass. Then their 2nd was off a dodgy benifit of the doubt call. Still there defence was pretty solid. Dave Taylor was totally shut down tonight.

Re:Tonights game Reply to this message
It wasn't Bowen he didn't play. But I agree Hodges is a girl he never shapes up to some one who can throw em like Webb or some one.

Watching the Eels slip through the riffers now 12-0 so far.16 minute mark. Is it this fast all game?

Re:Tonights game Reply to this message
I'm starting to believe that we can do it this year.

Dragons next week will be the one to show where we are at.

No matter what anyone says, Hayne is without doubt the best player in the world at the moment!
