sam knows he is teflon, and can do pretty much anything on the show... it cracks me up, i cant remember the last time i watched the NRL footy show, let alone laughed at it.

I watched the AFL one last night too, first time, and I have to agree it runs rings around the poorer cousin on SD.

I missed that bit big fella. But I agree with comments re the AFL Footy Show with Sam Newman making a buffoon of himself.....they'd have to be paying him heaps. Besides the comedy, they have a much better preview coverage of this weeks games.

I watch the AFL footy show, thank God for HD, AFL is miles better.

They too had a proposal, but the hot girl said yes.. the bloke was so scared, ahahaha...

so i didnt watch NRL, what happened, i love stories of public rejection.

No chance Nev. Matthew, as good a footy brain that he has, is the wrong type of person to be put in charge of a footy team. His image is that of one of the boys, a real larrikan, someone to get on the piss with.

It is understood Matthew Johns has ruled himself out as a contender for the Newcastle Knights' vacant coaching role.

Brian Smith is defecting to the Roosters next year and Knights assistant coach Rick Stone is seen as the frontrunner to take over.

There has also been speculation Johns might be interested, but the ABC has been told his manager contacted the Knights today to say that is not the case.

Johns apparently wants to take on an assistant coaching role in the NRL before moving to head coaching.
