| St George Illawarra's quest for the NRL minor premiership has taken a blow with three player *** with dangerous throw charges by the match review committee on Monday. NSW prop Justin Poore heads the list and could be out for up to three weeks, while Beau Scott and Matt Prior have also been handed charges that attract one week suspensions. Poore received a grade two charge for his tackle on Shane Elford in the win over Penrith last Friday, but can reduce the ban to two weeks with an early guilty plea. Scott and Prior were handed grade one charges for a 41st minute tackle, but despite both having carryover points and prior non-similar charges they will receive only one week bans if found guilty or by entering early guilty pleas. The loss of the in-form trio is a blow to the ladder leading Dragons who have won their last seven games to sit two games clear at the top of the NRL ladder. The Dragons travel to Canberra to play the Raiders on Saturday night. |
