The St George Bank Dragons have today agreed to terms with Raiders front row forward Michael Weyman for the 2009 and 2010 seasons.

Weyman, 23, has played 43 games in the NRL after making his debut for Canberra against the Panthers in round 10 of the 2003 season.

The Moruya Sharks junior and former Australian Schoolboy is happy to have his future sorted.

“Next year will be a new challenge at the Dragons which I am sure will be good for me but it is a long way away and my focus is on training and playing well with the Raiders for the remainder of this season,” said Weyman.

Dragons CEO Peter Doust is pleased to sign a young tough front rower on the “way up” in the NRL.

“Michael has shown plenty of promise in his short career in the NRL,” said Doust. “Although he has had some injury concerns in the past we believe he will be able to produce his best football here at the Dragons.”
