Re:Toyota 'poised to quit F1' (PREVIEW)
It,s OK , when the Libs get back in , they will raise taxes and sell off the rest of our utilities to make the books look better again.
Only to fix up Labors f@uk ups every time they are in power. |

| No wonder the yanks are in trouble then they set-up the Jap economy post WW2. Prove positive consumerism doesn't work either. |

A sign of the times and I don't mean the GFC but Jap cars being expensive compared to Korean and not selling well.
I hope that someone like a Brawn buys up the Tojo team. It blew a lot of dosh for not a lot in return. Back to WRC I hope for them.
Renault may follow - although their spend is a lot less its still possibly not getting the bang for its buck it could get elsewhere maybe WRC. If they do go they may still supply engines or do a partner deal as they had with Willimas years ago.
We could see another period in F1 when most of the teams are not car makers with engines from the likes of Ram Hart making a come back.
Who is doing the tyres next season I see Bridgestone pulled out too.
Japan must be in a really bad way.
WRC is pretty boring with only Ford and Citroen competing at any level. |

| Honda have taken sponsorship of the Japenese grand prix in f1s, but only due to the history of the circuit |

The Japanese motoring industry as a whole is pulling out of motorsport events everywhere - Subaru and Suzuki out of WRC, Toyota and Honda out of F1, Kawasaki out of MotoGP - they must be really feeling the pinch to do this as the Japanese makers have historically supported and participated in motorsport since the 60's.
And we've had plenty of economic ups and downs since then. |

It looks like it could be a return of the "privateer" teams, with minimal factory input - only Ferrari and Mercades seem committed to continuing. Toyota gone, BMW gone, the hot rumour of Renault leaving - at least we have some new teams coming in to replace them.
Has Michillin stepped up to take Bridgstones place as the tyre supplier, or is someone else coming in? Pirelli? Maybe Firestone? Dunlop? |
