| The cars raced in the BTCC are all sold here in Aus as road versions. It is also good to keep an eye on some of the Brits, as they are usually invited to co-drive for our V8SC endurance events. |

| HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship aces James Thompson and Harry Vaulkhard were the stars of the show in the FIA’s annual European Touring Car Cup race event last weekend. Thompson, twice a BTCC champion, won the event outright but only at the expense of Vaulkhard who, having been course for victory, finished fifth on aggregate after sliding off the track at Braga, Portugal. The event marked the first time that Richard Coleman’s bamboo outfit had run two Chevrolet Lacettis – its other car was handled by Portuguese Felx Duarte de Costa who led the early stages of race two before a spin. Bamboo has so far fielded just one Lacetti for Vaulkhard in the BTCC but has already confirmed it will expand to a two-car operation for 2010. GM pull a rabbit out of the hat in the UK, let's hope they do the same here in AUS. |

| Turkington is 2009 Champion Northern Ireland’s Colin Turkington is tonight celebrating becoming the 2009 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Champion following a nail-biting final race of the season on the world-famous Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit today. Vauxhall’s 20-year participation in the BTCC has drawn to an end and although the Drivers’ title has eluded it, the British make and its VX Racing team still leave with the much-prized Manufacturers/Constructor s trophy. VXR has also achieved the outright Teams’ title. |

| Although Ford have more wins, [ they have been in the series longer], Vauxhall have won an unrivalled 8 manufacturers championships. True what Top Gear says, I wouldn't buy one either, but they are entertaining to watch, they almost look like littlr radio controlled cars. |

| Vauxhall bids farewell with Brands Hatch display A collection of some of Vauxhall’s most successful touring cars will be on display at Brands Hatch on Sunday as the UK manufacturer bids farewell to the British series… for now. Vauxhall confirmed in April that 2009 would be its last season in the BTCC after 20 hugely successful years in the series. In those two decades, its cars have won 125 races and five of its drivers eight outright titles – figures only bettered by Ford in 50 years-plus of the BTCC. There have also been an unrivalled eight manufacturers’ trophies. |

| The Vectra must be getting close to it's use by date, but the Lacetti/Cruze is still in development, they have just taken one of the engineers from cosworth on board & expecting good things to happen. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Its odd how its use to be said "that win sunday sell monday", FORD dominates HOLDEN in the 3 AUSSIE racing series but not sales. GM dominates FORD in the BTCC but not in sales. This might explain why manufacturers are cutting sponsoring racing series. |
