Probably come with a kick starter as an option, crank handle is standard.

I could imagine the Indian headlines "man suffocates on chickens " lol Still its scary for our industry . If you could buy one of these in oz for even $3500 they would sell like hotcakes, especially in the city.Could take the place of the juice sucking 4wd,s that most mothers drop their kids to school in. 2 strong guys could lift it into any parking space.

Maybe the chickens act as Airbags in a crash.

Re:Holden REDUCES POWER in Commodore Reply to this message
WOW, doesnt look to bad for $2500 wonder if you would have to kick someone out to give it a push when the air con is used.
Steel quality might be an issue seeing the shipping GRAVEYARD wreckers are in India.

Re:Holden REDUCES POWER in Commodore Reply to this message
nah they are a 623cc two cylinder 4 stroke. Apparently someone in India has worked out that carrying the family , the pet pig and 16 chickens is now dangerous. If u thin we have a lot of ppl killed in road accidents in oz, we aint got nothin compared to India

Will not be much of a market if they try to export them with 2 stroke engines to western countries.

Well, if they are anything like the 90% of the other stuff we get from them, I dont have to answer that. But like every other asian country, They will get better very quickly. Interesting to note that a lot of their engines are basically european. They bought quite a few engine plants from europe ,and shipped the entire factories over

I used to see hundreds of rolls of steel sitting on the storage docks in Adelaide for weeks at a time. Couldnt have been too good

Re:Holden REDUCES POWER in Commodore Reply to this message
the outside of some steel rolls is worse than the underneath steel. Maybe that could cotribute. i couldnt see manufacturers throwing out the first 5 mtrs of every roll
------------------------- ------------------------- -------
This could explain the odd new car that has excesive rust problems.

Re:Holden REDUCES POWER in Commodore Reply to this message
Years ago a mine i worked for who use to make their own mining quipment were getting the chassis from China. When you saw them roll up already pitted from where rust had already started eating into the steel.

We were told the steel was from salvaged ships.

Re:Holden REDUCES POWER in Commodore Reply to this message
Scratch the zinc coating enough and you still end up with a rust problem. But depends on the quality of steel prep. Just because some supplier says zinc treated does not mean a quality job.

Still comes down to not increasing the chances. Washing out with fresh water any dirt / mud build up or after driving in or on high salt areas.

They should send cars to underground mine sites for rust testing lol

A lot of the holdens are made in SA . The steel is supposed to be zinc treated and was made by BHP , dont know where its made now. Probly Korea

Re:Holden REDUCES POWER in Commodore Reply to this message
Could the way batches of steel are made contribute?
With both makers being in VIC cars painted on a cold damp dewy winters morning/day be more prone to rust compared to one being painted on a warm dry summers day?
If the paint or protective coatings are scratched or damaged during instalation of components ater the body has been painted.

gen111 We can go tit for tat for ever, for every rusty Ford there will be a rusty Holden and visa versa, im not that naive, its a fact of life when you have something made of metal.
There is allot of contributing factors beyond the manufacturer that make it more or less likely to have a car with rust.

Re:Holden REDUCES POWER in Commodore Reply to this message
Gen111 I think a lot of rust problems in cars comes from some ppl using certain cleaners or pressure sprayers on cars. Also depends where u live. Ive seen old cars out in the northern deserts, and you would think they had been dumped only mths ago. If u live near the coast, you will obviously have more problems
