Ducati better get a big cheque book out,
And some development.
Wonder if Jeremy Burgess would go with him.
Pedrosa would be happy to move away from honda I think too. |

Moto GP,
Soon after securing his 6th win of the season inside the MotoGP and making another step towards securing his 6th title in the series, reigning champion Valentino Rossi took some time off to evaluate his options for his future. While still under contract with Yamaha until the end of 2010, The Doctor revealed he would fancy â like all the other Italian tifosi out there â a move to Ducati in 2011.
Having won championships with both Honda and Yamaha in the past, Rossi's only goal seems to be clinching a MotoGP title with his countrymen before he retires from the sport. How everybody signed and sealed their contracts for the next season, Rossi admits everything is possible for 2011. For 2010 however, there is no chance he'll leave Yamaha before schedule.
âI havenât decided yet about my future, I will decide in the next year. I have a contract signed already with Yamaha (for 2010). For sure it is a great dream for everybody, to see Valentino with Ducati. We will see, I donât know,â said the 30-year old after his dominating win at Misano the past weekend.
Rossi's move to Ducati â if it will happen â would most likely benefit Sp *** h rider Dani Pedrosa. As admitted by the current Honda rider after signing his one-year extension with the Japanese manufacturer, a move to Yamaha in 2011 would be top priority, as he would finally get the chance to challenge for a championship title.
On the other hand, should Nicky Hayden fail to perform as expected next year, the North American rider will most likely face an early exit from Ducati at the end of 2010, therefore clearing the spot for a potential Rossi move.
Sounds like Rossi has made the mental shift?
Ducati will obviously want Rossi if he is available. |

| Agree reddog, not very exciting race, though Dovizioso / Capirossi battle to the end was good to watch when the camera was on them. |

Rossi hits back with Misano triumph
Sunday, 06 September 2009
It took Valentino Rossi just one week to bounce back from his Indianapolis disappointment with brilliant win at Misano on Sunday.
Misano 2009 - MotoGP Race Highlights
World Champion Valentino Rossi delighted the home crowd at Misano on Sunday with his second successive victory at the Italian circuit, to reassert his authority in the MotoGP title race.
A 2.4s win at the Gran Premio Cinzano di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini over his team-mate Jorge Lorenzo was the perfect response to his Indy DNF and Rossi now leads the Spaniard by 30 points in the standings, with four rounds to go.
Lorenzo did his very best to stay with his illustrious team-mate over the course of the 28 lap contest, having overtaken Dani Pedrosa after a short battle, but The Doctor was unstoppable in the Italian sunshine.
Having held the lead in the early stages Repsol Hondaâs Pedrosa could not match the pace of the powerful Fiat Yamaha pair, eventually crossing the line ten seconds behind Lorenzo to complete the podium.
Early in the race there was drama - and heartbreak â when Alex de Angelis (San Carlo Honda Gresini) appeared to misjudge the first corner and crashed out, with American pair Colin Edwards (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) and Nicky Hayden (Ducati Marlboro) unfortunately sliding out with him.
Andrea Dovizioso (Repsol Honda) and Loris Capirossi (Rizla Suzuki) had a fierce fight behind the rostrum finishers, with Dovizioso eventually coming out on top by two-tenths of a second for his third fourth place finish in a row.
The top ten was rounded off by early race leader Toni ElÃas (San Carlo Honda Gresini), Mika Kallio (Ducati Marlboro), Marco Melandri (Hayate Racing), Chris Vermeulen (Rizla Suzuki) and James Toseland (Monster Yamaha Tech 3), whilst temporary Pramac Racing representative Aleix Espargaró did very well in eleventh place in just his second MotoGP race. |

Poleman Rossi in control at Misano
Saturday, 05 September 2009
Qualifying at the Gran Premio Cinzano di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini went down to the wire, but Valentino Rossi ultimately emerged on top.
Best images of MotoGP QP in Misano
Having crashed out at Indianapolis last Sunday Valentino Rossi is fighting back in style at his home event this weekend and he took pole at the end of an intriguing qualifying practice at Misano on Saturday afternoon.
The Italian legend has been the fastest rider in every session so far this weekend and his last gasp 1â34.338 lap put him in pole position for the sixth time this season in the Rimini sunshine.
As the session drew to a close it looked as though Repsol Hondaâs Dani Pedrosa had snatched pole from Rossi with a decent 1â34.560 effort, but the Fiat Yamaha rider found another level in the closing seconds to deny the Spaniard.
Completing the front row, Rossiâs team-mate Jorge Lorenzo also marked his best time at the end of the QP, but he finally fell half a second short of his title rival. Lorenzo will need to be at his very best if he is to improve on his second place result in last yearâs Misano contest.
The second row of the grid is headed by San Carlo Honda Gresini rider Toni ElÃas who lapped with a similar pace to Lorenzo and will be desperate for a good performance on Sunday as he fights for his future in the premier class.
Behind ElÃas on the grid sits the experienced Colin Edwards (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) and the Texanâs compatriot Nicky Hayden (Ducati Marlboro), who is enjoying plenty of support from the Ducatisti this weekend.
The top ten also features home rider Alex de Angelis (San Carlo Honda Gresini), Andrea Dovizioso (Repsol Honda), Randy de Puniet (LCR Honda) and Loris Capirossi (Rizla Suzuki) - the veteran Italian surviving an off track excursion unscathed during the session. |

Rossi in charge again on Saturday morning
Saturday, 05 September 2009
The World Champion was the quickest rider in FP2 at the Gran Premio Cinzano di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini.
Following up on his good work from Friday, Fiat Yamahaâs Valentino Rossi was again the top performer in practice on Saturday morning at Misano, despite a late surge from his team-mate Jorge Lorenzo â who was second again.
2008 Misano race-winner Rossi, who lives just a few kilometres from the circuit, put in a rapid 1â34.528 time right at the end of FP2 to stay at the top of the timesheets and boost his confidence ahead of qualifying this afternoon at round 13.
Lorenzo took over from his team-mate and championship rival Rossi at the top of the timesheet briefly, with a 1â34.732 lap in the final seconds, only for the Italian to strike back immediately.
Half a second behind Rossi in third place was Repsol Hondaâs Dani Pedrosa, whilst LCR Honda rider Randy de Puniet showed good pace in spite of his ankle injury in fourth â a further three tenths back on Pedrosa. Also on home turf this weekend, Pedrosaâs factory Honda colleague Andrea Dovizioso was fifth best, with a time similar to De Punietâs.
Americans Nicky Hayden and Colin Edwards were sixth and seventh respectively, with the top ten rounded out by Alex de Angelis, Toni Elias and a remarkably quick Aleix Espargaró, lapping faster than numerous established names at the start of what is just his fifth day on a MotoGP bike. |

Rossi starts home weekend in good form
Friday, 04 September 2009
A late hot lap from Valentino Rossi made him Fridayâs fastest rider at the Gran Premio Cinzano di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini.
Misano 2009 - MotoGP FP1 Highlights
Fiat Yamahaâs reigning World Champion Valentino Rossi begun his quest to repeat his 2008 Misano victory with Fridayâs fastest FP1 time, ahead of his young Sp *** h team-mate Jorge Lorenzo.
Rossiâs 1â35.304s lap at the end of the hour-long practice was not matched by any of his rivals, with Lorenzo coming closest as he lapped 0.126s behind the Italian. Lorenzo was second at Misano last season and he will need to beat his illustrious colleague if he wishes to keep up the pressure in the title race.
Repsol Honda pair Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso were third and fifth respectively on the timesheet on their RC212V factory machines. Pedrosa trailed Rossi by 0.776s as the MotoGP big guns flexed their muscles on the opening day, though the Spaniard appeared to suffer a technical fault at the end of the practice and was taken back to his pit-box by a steward.
San Carlo Honda Gresiniâs Alex de Angelis continued his good rhythm from last weekend to lap fourth fastest overall, the San Marino rider still aiming to secure a ride for 2010. De Angelis recovered well from an inconsequential crash earlier in the session to mark his best time late on.
Also riding at his home track Dovizioso was around a second off the pace and will therefore aim to up the pace on Saturday, as his strives to challenge for the podium this weekend.
Also featuring in the Friday top ten were Colin Edwards (Monster Yamaha Tech 3), Mika Kallio (Ducati Marlboro), Loris Capirossi (Rizla Suzuki), James Toseland (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) and Nicky Hayden (Ducati Marlboro), who all went round within 1.5s of Rossiâs best time. |

Well Rossi says he ran wide,
Beattie made mention of the rear lifting for a split second as he corrected it,
and all we saw is the front go out from under him.
so its basically a set-up thing to make the bike more forgiveable. |
