| Why are you standing aside because you a getting a little older, so what you haven't been winning its just not your turn every one has their good and bad times.I have been watching you drive since your Nissan days and I think you have still got a lot more in you.I'm a lot older that you I have been watching race cars since 1960 and seen may changes and your standing in not one of them. | No. Walkinshaw went bankrupt. Holden rescued three outfits that were HRT, HSV and Peter Brock (Paul Weel?) racing. Avseco's rules are that the team can not be owned by the factory, beats me why, therefore a problem came up where Holden had to back away. Paul Weel rebadged the Peter Brock team. The Kelly's bought HSV but a very shady deal was done with Skaife for HRT which has some agreement that Holden re-assumes the ownership after a fixed period - 10 years I think. Walkinshaw popped his head up last year with TWP and sort of managed both teams and provides tricky bits to a number of outfits. I think he has since backed away from the management thing or was warned off but still provides the gear. Skaife and way in the backgound, which is why it took so long last year to provide the paperwork, Holden own HRT. |

| Actually who remembers after the Darwin round in 2007, Mark Skiafe had the dismiss suggestions that he was feuding with his then team mate Todd Kelly after an on track incident that saw Kelly bump Skiafe from behind. It was a racing incident, but Todd had to apologise to Mark. Move on to 2008 and now HRT are playing down any issues of rifts between Mark and Garth! Seems to me that Mark gets abit edgy if his team mate gives him a hard time i.e. Tander and the headlight incident at Hamilton. Look out Garth you could be out the door next year if you give Mark to much of a hard time ;) |

| Like I said in another thread, Simon McNamara pulls the strings for the top Holden teams, and Skaife probably doesn't own any of it. Whether Walkinshaw does or Holden does is a mystery. However, it's safe to say, in reply to an earlier question, that John and Margaret Kelly own HSV Dealer Team, since TEGA cleared them so quickly last year. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| If Mark steps down, then i think it will only be from the V8 Supercar series, i would still expect to see him racing in the enduros. The thinki is that HRT are a very high profile team and expect both drivers to be front runners. Not in the top 5 and you are given your marching orders. Where does that leave Mark? |
