| I saw my furst Pontiac "Ute" commercial today! It aired during the Rolex Grand-Am Race from Homestead-Miami. Pontiac (GM) is running a contest over here to "Name this Car". All they showed was the Pontiac "Ute", w/o much talking at all - kind of letting the public form their own opinion. I think if you win the contest you win one of them. |

| I do not think that GM would import the Holden Ute if they thought it was a piece of rubbish, when the Ute was on display here about 3 years ago it wowed the public. | All the american cars look the part and have the grunt, but as skaify said earlier, wheres the handling, i think if the yanks get in and drive the UTE they might be pleasantly surprised, enough power for the average joe and handles a little better me thinks. Plus if they need more grunt the Yanks are well known for spending whatever it takes to get things moving. So power is probably less of an issue than most think. It may not look the part, but again yanks love to manipulate bodies as much as engines. All it will take is one hoon to trick one out for the rest of them to see and i think they'll sell alright. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I doubt GM would be so stupid to ship the motors here,,fit them to a car,,then ship them back...Common sense would tell me that the cars would leave Oz with all US sourced components missing,,and then fitted in the States.. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| To say that the LS8 engine will be the most powerful engine in the States also shows everyone what you are. Maybe you should be asking Holden why they are so expensive here and yet are prepared to give them to the US for a quarter the price. They are either ripping off Aussies or losing money on there new venture. Which answer do you prefer Skaifette? |

| That answers my question on your intelligence level....Total fVkwit. If they are selling them for 30K US (35K AUS)after building them,then converting them th LHD,then exporting them all the way to the States. How much should you pay for one that hasnt had thousands spent on conversion and export costs???? About $18,000 Aus Yet fools will pay over 70K here....WHY SKAIFE?? Whos the idjut now? |
