| Yeah, I agree. Ball sports tend to look better at night, but motorsport really should be a day sport, unless you're doing a 12 Hour or 24 Hour race. Please bring that back, someone (and get it on TV). |

Why race at night when you get a great 'day' out with the family and friends at the racing?
Who cares whether NASCAR car at night, good luck to them. If the majority of race fanes in Australia was interested in NASCAR then Bob Janes Thunderdome was have been successful.
Only reason Eccelstone wants night races over this way is to please the europeans.
The reason they did a race in the middleeast was that it is so god d@mn hot in the desert in the day time! |

| The V8s did a night race at Calder Park in 1996, and a twilight race (ie not night, but getting close - daylight savings) at Eastern Creek in 1996. I don't think they've done anything else, though. |

If you watched the F1 race from Malaysia, they mentioned how next year's event there will more than likely be under the lights to appease the European audience.
Have the V8s ever run at night? |

Isn't it funny how bernie said it is wrong to have people missing out on sleep because the race is on late at night. What a bafoon, what an egghead, what an absolute joker, hey DUMB $HIT WHAT DO U THINK WE'VE BEEN DOING EVERY SINGLE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't tell us that you feel for people missing out on sleep, when you want to take the only race that is held at a decent time for us away. |

| Yes it's true, Burnie Egghead wants the Australian GP to be at midnight. What a moron. oh well at least the thousands and thousands of people who can't attend could video tape the race from tv and watch it at a decent time. I supose TV viewers wouldn't even notice the lack of a crowd due to the darkness over the grandstands at viewing areas. |

I wonder how late ecclestone wants the race started? So much for the family day out at the race, how late do you stay out with young kids before they get tired and want to go to sleep.
So depending on how late it starts it could mean all the entertainment and sipport races also at night. |

Three ... two ... one. Melbourne's contract to stage Australia's Formula 1 Grand Prix runs until 2010, but a few cynics are saying this weekend's race could be the last. We doubt that.
Perhaps next year's may be. It's largely forgotten that Adelaide's hosting of the GP ended a year earlier than was intended when Melbourne "stole" it.
Most likely, though, is that 2010 will see Australia's last F1 GP.
Forget any thought of it becoming a night race, even though there's a report around today suggesting that the Hella company could brighten up Albert Park enough for racing for just $5 million a year.
The Italian company that will light F1's first night GP in Singapore at the end of September and the American company Musco that lit Melbourne's Calder Park Thunderdome almost 15 years ago and Qatar's MotoGP last Saturday -- for US$19 million -- would have a head start on Hella in getting F1 tsar Bernie Ecclestone's blessing, and that of Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) president Max Mosley, for the job. |
