| if you look at all the cashed up celebrities you'd realise that money doesn't make you happy. Do you realise that depression and bipolar are diseases? |

| gee odz-ball it sounds like you're not a knights fan. People idolised andrew johns as he was a brilliant footballer. simple. when people choose which player they love, the main criteria is skill, not personality, or what they do off field. also, ecstasy isn't a performance enhancing drug, so there was no playing benefit for johns for taking the drug. Also, alcohol is a drug, and league players abuse it much more than johns abused ecstasy, so why aren't you outraged about all the alcohol related mishaps in other teams? |

| odzon, you probably shouldn't watch any football team then as there would be someone in every single club taking party drugs, they are not increasing there strength, speed or ball playing ability by taking party drugs. I am a knights fan but I don't think Joey should be riddiculed for the rest of his life for taking party drugs as it is not cheating & I am not saying it is ok for him to do it as he had a contract probaly stating not to take banned substances but he is human & humans take drugs regardless of who they are. If parents are piping up & saying I don't want my young son to have anything to do with Andrew Johns, supporting him or wearing his jersey they are extremely lacking in parenting skills. |

Odzon your a pillock...Drugs whether you like it or not is part of the culture of all sports whether you do them or not, in any sport yeah you see who is taking what in the changing rooms and on the fields, it happens in Rugby yes it does all you Ruggerbuggars out there the difference is that your wonderful spin doctors that inhabit your sport are well enoughed versed with it that they very quickly go into damage control and shut the story down, we see it in NZ all the time with the collusion that goes on between Fairfax Media and the All Blacks stories just never make it to the papers so people like you and I suspect a few other pullers on this page, get the chance to gloat about what wonderful pin up plnkers they haver in there sport...The fact of the matter is that Joey got caught, then like many other people panicked, then manned up and came out on TV and very candidly told the public about his addiction, and got on with his life. More than we could say about lets see, Daladgio who lied to the media and said it was only the once...yeah right and one day the Poms will win some world cup. I ask all of you out there what makes you saints and such people of high morales none of you never done something wrong and then hid it away.
Yeah like I thought the baggers out there are hypocrits and I suspect half of them are just league haters and the other half probably hide there own secrets. People make mistakes in there life, so what the litlle people in our society do is take a position, it makes them feel righteous but to the rest of us it just shows you for the Hypocits you are. Good on Joey for opening up and telling us about his problems just goes to show that he is a honest, and very normal human, and you lot bagging him it shows us what a pack of self righteous plonkers that we unfortunately have to share our air with! Now like the good little hypocits you are quick get a typin.... |

| Whatever poor decisions Andrew Johns has made in his private life, pales in comparison to the absolute lack of poor options he 'never' took when playing Rugby League! He's a sportsman, not a God! He was the greatest player Rugby League has ever seen and will be remembered as such. If anything, his admission has brought to light some issues which, either directly or indirectly, effect us all. To me and mine, he is a hero! |

| You obviously know nothing about Biplor or Depession it has nothing to do with how much money you have all the money in the world does not cure it. I hope that you never get it as I would not wish it on my worst enemy, but then again maybe I do wish you would so you can just see what it is like. Just think yourself lucky its not you that has it as it is hell. |

if kids think it's ok to take drugs because joey johns did then their parents are not doing a very good job.
kids want to play league because he did, not take drugs because he did...
like 75% of people his age he's had pills... he's still a star |

| I just read a sentence from Terri-Mae Fitzgerald 87 words long without drawing breath. If Terri-Mae would like to rewrite his/her post with punctuation it might make sense. |

Yeah Goey could let the kids know how to avoid detection,Where to score, how much, how to keep his parents quiet.
lots of things to teach the kids.
No thanks,a clean sportsman who is a role model for kids would be better.
I for one would not let my kids near the druggo. |

If you think the public should just forgive and forget about Johns drug problem. You are scum.
Any parent should be horrified at the "softening" approach that the NRL are employing.
Blaming the PRESSURES of publicity is puzzling.
That means Johnny Howard should have a $1000 a day habit, with all the stress of running an entire country not just a footy team. |

Do they think we all live under a rock, and how many more are doing the same??? He didn't confess, he was caught out.
It has been going on for years, i have been around football players and things haven't changed that much, just a lot more money now. They are all a bunch of over paid thugs, adulterers, druggies ,etc etc.
What about other drug users they don't get applauded and praised for using they get abused. Johns will make money out of this. You would think his money would have kept him from getting depressed...under pressure what a load of rubbish.Maybe he was broke and now needs a job counselling other drug users.
He is a scammer.and so are the rest of them. |
