| Mullens needs to develop a ticker, he is the softest and dead easiest to bring down when he approaches(not enough during a game) the line. It's like "not too rough boys". Kicking practice and ego manipulation might also be of benefit. How many intercepts before those play makers learn to watch what the opposition are doing out wide. On a positive, those young forwards look promising and the coach cannot be shot for missed tackles and dumb plays by on field players. |

yeah Brian will be your saviour...he did SOOOO well at Parra with all the Championships he got there...he is amazing......hold on a moment.......the team choked at every turn of a finals series...... twice even being up 18 points at half time and they couldn't get over the line. He can recruit but he cant keep them and he cant gather them as a true team.
One thing i have learned in business with staff is this -
GAIN, TRAIN, MAINTAIN. Brian can do the 1st only. Good luck....you will need heaps. |

| Really? What makes you think that Brian Smith will be the downfall of the Knights? What do you like/dislike about him, in comparison to the laid back Michael Hagan? |

I remember that game well, I thought Matty scored more tries though, but I remember him setting up about three others. He carved up the Bulldogs all day. Would love a copy of that game. I always thought Matt was just as good as Joey he just didn't get the accolades that Joey did. They were both fantastic players and are sorely missed.
I think we are in good hands with Jarrod Mullen he looks like a Fantastic young player, unfortunatley the downfall of our beloved team will be Brian " I'm Useless" Smith he will ruin our beloved team you wait and see. Get rid of him now. |

| So, every game that wasn't on either ABC or Ch9 was covered by NBN (with Mike Rabbit as caller)? Did you like NBN's coverage of the games? When did they start calling them? |

1) Does anyone remember the game where Newcastle mauled the Bulldogs 42-0 at home (however many years ago), and Matthew Johns scored some long range try (and was named man of the match in that game)?
2) What was the Free-to-air television coverage of the Newcastle Knights games like before Super League (1988-1996)? Was it good (especially for those who lived in the Newcastle area)? Was it better back then than it is now? |
