| JINXED North Melbourne defender Jesse Smith has suffered another hamstring injury. Smith lasted until just after halftime in Saturday's match against Fremantle in Canberra. It was his first senior game for 10 months after being dogged by hamstring ailments last season. Smith's start to 2008 was delayed by a serious ankle injury and he managed only two senior games before hamstring problems sidelined him from Round 5. Scans today will reveal the extent of damage to the right hamstring. "We'll wait and see what the scan shows and go from there," football manager Donald McDonald said. |

| North Melbourne has announced that champion midfielder Brent Harvey is its new captain. Click here to find out more! Harvey, a four-time best-and-fairest winner, will assume the position from Adam Simpson who skippered the club for the past five seasons. Coach Dean Laidley revealed that the major reason behind Harvey's appointment was that all of his team-mates wanted him to be their captain.
