Hurley would be a ripper pickup, but I also don't believe he will last to our first pick. Hansen looks like being the one to hold down full back with Spud being far better suited to CHB, along with Petrie on the odd occasion.
CHF looks nailed down with Hale finally stepping up and the highly promising Tarrant waiting in the wings.
As for the draft, if we miss Hurley, I think we will go for a quality midfielder with our first pick (Banner, Zaharakis or even Tom Swift) and probably look at Jordan Lisle as a future key defender wih our second round pick.
many are touting we will pick up Sean McKernan, but I just can't see that happening when we already have Petrie, Hale, McIntosh, Goldstein, Tarrant and Josh Smith waiting in the wings and our deficiencies really lie in an area outside of young Seans obvious strengths.
Perhaps we will get him down the track in a couple of years. ;)
I have a feeling similiar to the one I had in 1990. The cards are beginning to fall in to place. ;)
Edwards needs to kick more goals to stitch up full forward, and Wundke is still an unknown quantity at the highest level. |

i think we might be ok for a FF. Yes a FB would be handy.Releasing the spud for duties further afield would be great.
Ya never know snow he might still be available & don't be surprised if North do some trading for early picks.
Will know more when Ben ross returns from injury if he steps straight back into the ones we might have a midfielder up for trade.
Got plenty of Forward flankers too.
And before i get accused of getting rid of all our talls :P, i said the same thing last year with Moran... Can you play Hale , McIntosh , Petrie & Goldstein in the same side.?? Plus Hansen (197cm) , and Tarrant has returned from injury and played a game in the Vfl seconds. He's 196cm . We run the risk of becoming to top heavy , but i will add not a freaking bad problem to have. |

Micheal Hurley, most promising young full back in this years draft. Unfortunately i dont think he will still be there by the time we get a pick.
Id like to see a quality centre, Simo cant go forever. |

sort of follow on from crystal ball 2010. Who are we missing to take us to the next level .? That i mean premiership level. or have we aready got what it takes .And just need to get some more games into the youngsters.??
will have a quick go ... a pacy midfielder in and undr type. Ben Ross.??
a tall backman who can run and take contested marks. Lachie Hansen.??
Rucks we've got covered.
CHF gees Hale is getting there isn't he.?? I didn't think he could play that role but i was wrong.
our forward options are plentyful , Thomas , Campbell , Jones , Edwards , Grant ,.
our backline lead by Pratt & Firrito with Urqhuart and Watt as support is looking solid enough.
And concidering .... Swallow , Jess Smith , McIntosh , Edwards ,Sinclair , Ross , are some of those injured or coming back from injury and i believe the standard of Afl or the depth has dropped and will only further so with the 2 new sides have we the talent to go all the way.???
Not saying this season , but in the coming years.I think so.!! |
