Let's see, Firrito won't play full back, Hansen will have it by then and Laidley has hinted as much.
There's no way you'd move Urquart back in to a pocket and put Thompson further afield Thompson, and Urquart may even be an onballer by 2010, so I'd swap them around.
I don't think Lower will make it and McIntosh could well become the teams full forward.
B: Gibson, Hansen, Thompson
HB: Smith, Firrito, Pratt
C: Urquart, Harris, Wells
HF: Jones, Petrie, Thomas
F: Edwards, Hale/McIntosh, Campbell
R: McIntosh/Hale, Swallow, Harvey
Int: Goldstein, Ross, McMahon, Riggio
Emerg: Adams, Wundke, Smith, Greenwood.
I also have no doubt that Adams will be better than Harris, Swallow and Riggio IF he can get and stay fit.
Of course, if North manage to draft a quality key defender or onballer this year, then they would also press for selection by 2010. |

will be interesting iamfootyfan as Werribee have abye next week. Will they rush him back in on the back of that 6 goal haul.??? Probably.!!! Or will laidley debut Greenwood.?? I think we'll smash the Dees as they've put the cue back in the rack.
Ben Ross looks likely to miss 2 weeks. fark me we can't take a trick this season.
North Ballart are on top of the ladder & Werribee are 5th. |

| Drew Petrie hinted on the Footy Show today that Thommo will probably be selected again to play this week should he do well in the VFL. He kicked 6 goals today, should be interesting... |

also read in the herald sun today not sure how much truth there is to this...
Carlton are showing an interest in Hansen.
Hawks are keen on Jesse Smith , now his father (Ross) is a coach there i think. |

lol rand was just messin' about our talls there's so few decent ruckmen in the comp atm cause there all at North. I agree with u about the dawgs , they'll struggle with us in a few weeks.
i think Goldstein is going as well as McIntosh at the same age so he looks to have a future.
rucks McIntosh , Goldstein.
CHB Petrie , also expect 10 hitouts & 2 goals a game.lol
FF, Hale have said it before i think the arm chopping rule makes him a nightmare at FF.
Wundke kicked 4 yesterday , Smith 7.
But anyway a quick thanks to someone i bagged from pillar to post. Neville niffty Stibbard ya might of got the flick , but when we win our next flag you'll deserve a lot of the credit. 2006 was your recruiting pinnacle.I doubt any club has recruited better in one season with the picks North had. And the rookie And pre-season draft as well.
CHF try Thommo there ?? or Hansen he's a strong mark . |

Maybe the reason Jones kicked 46 goals last year was because he worked alot harder and he had too. We needed him to step up in Thommos absence. Thommo is the FF and Jones the HFF/FP. Its up to Jones to get out of Thommos way. Not the other way around. In Thommo's first year he kicked 52 goals and Jones 38. In Thommos second year CJ's goal tally dropped but his possessions went up as he played more up the ground and even had a 30 possie game of the HBF.
Considering both players havent exactly fired its interesting to note that Thommo is averageing 2 goals a game and Jones just under. If we got 44 from Thompson and another 36 from Jones for the season then you would be happy i would think especially given Cambell has kicked 24 and Thomas 21. We have more avenues to goal now so Thommo and Jones are not going to have to kick bags of goals for us to win anymore.
So Brown kicked 5 goals in the VFL. Most reports I have read from North supporters who were at that game said that he did sweet fa for 3 quarters and only played well in the last.
Brown has played forward and failed. He has been tried back and failed. How quickly some people forget the final against the Cats where he dropped an easy mark and then got caught holding the ball.
And will you stop trying to trade our big fellas. Look what happened to the Bulldogs today. They got flogged because they are a team of midfielders and know decent KPP's. We have them in abundance. |

| yes Gt we didn't miss him we play better without him .Jones last year kicked over 50 goals , Thommo i believed got in his way. last night Jones had more room to move and did a pretty good job. |

anyway it matters not as Thommo has been dropped. Will be very interesting seeing what the future now holds for him. I feel he's now in a lose lose situation.
Should North win tonight without him , its going to be hard for him to force his way back into the side.
Should North lose tonight , is there much point in playing him for the remainder of the season.?? Time will tell, of course he could go nuts in the VFl and kick a heap of goals and force his way back into the side , but i somehow doubt he'll do that.
Could be curtains Thommo on a very unremarkable career. But its his call. |

i've never been a fan of his and my point was if Brown got 6-8 touches he'd be ommited so would Watt and a few others. His age is now against him , this season hall's copped it hard , so has Fev at times , lloyd as well , Gehrig's gone. But Thommo no one has questioned his worth i find that strange. I am resigned to him playing on next season. sure i called for Josh Smith to get a go , i now doubt he has what it takes.
Now my focus is on Wundke , decent size is a wonderful shot on goal and has been kicking some decent goal lots in VFL. Now if as i suspect Thommo's knee is causing him trouble & he can only manage a couple of shots on goal and a handful of touches. Why not give Wundke a chance.??
Brown kicked 5 for Werribee last week had 20 hitouts 17 touches and 10 marks. He can play , but the coach has no convidence in him . i believe. He's only 26 as well. Just like him down back for a bit, but yes he's no star i'll give you that. |

| I agree, it doesn't add up. Nathan Thompson for example, kicked in excess of 50 goals the two years (2005 / 2006)before his injury? Perhaps we forget someone's worth, when on the long term injury list... |

I dont get you ammmatt. You bag the *** out of Thompson who has actually done something to justify the trade for him yet you think Leigh Brown is an ok player and is not getting game because the Coach doesnt like him.
Brown is a hack. He has had plenty of opportunities and has done sweet fa. |

i see your point though snow , we're finally getting some depth.
i think when we win our next flag we'll look back on the 06 drafts as the catalyst.....
Hansen
Urquhart
Goldstein
Thomas
Edwards
pre-season Ben Ross ( i think he's going to be super)
rookie...
Adams ( did his knee of course)
Matt Campbell
i'm not sure any club could've bettered that lot with the picks available. |

i tried to work it without our older core players. So no Brown, Jones, Grant, Watt, Thompson, Sinclair, Harvey, Harding. Harris is the oldest there.
I actually left out one I think will be a good player as well in Obst. |

more importantly snow you've no room for..... Leigh Brown , Corey Jones , Shannon Grant , Shannon Watt , ( i don't mind him) Nathan Thompson that a lot of experience to off load in one summer.
i wouldn't mind Brown been given the liberties of a certain someone and take the pressure of him. And give him another chance at Full Forward.?? |

nice side snowy , Lower is a goer but not sure he'll have a huge career. I like Hale at Full forward because of the chopping of the arms rule. I think him playing no more than 30 mtrs from goal would be a nightmare for opposition full backs.
gees though i think we'll see that side at some stage early next season.
one other name that may feature is Wunke a tall mobile forward who has been amongst the goals this season in the VFl. Rookie i think.? |

B: Gibson, Firrito, Urquart
HB: Smith, Petrie, Thompson
C: Hansen, Lower, Pratt
HF: McMahon, Hale, Thomas
F: Tarrant, Edwards, Campbell
Foll: McIntosh, Harris, Wells
Int: Goldstein, Adams, Smith, Riggio
Emerg: Swallow, Ross, Greenwood, Davies
It actually doesnt look all that bad to me :) |
