Re:Goodbye Sunline Reply to this message
SUNLINE WAS THE GREATEST MARE I HAVE EVER SEEN RACE. SHE DIED TOO YOUNG BECAUSE OF GREEDY OWNERS WHO FORCED HER TO HAVE FOAL AFTER FOAL.SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN A BIG PADDOCK GALLOPING AROUND WITH A RACING BUDDY FOR COMPANIONSHIP. TOO MUCH WEIGHT AND NOT ENOUGH EXERCISE CAUSES LAMINITIS....GO FIGURE!!!! ANYWAY SHE IS PROBABLY A LOT HAPPIER IN HORSE HEAVEN.ALL SOME PEOPLE CARE ABOUT IS MONEY ...NOT THE WELFARE OF THE ANIMAL... R.I.P. SUNLINE...BEAUTIFUL GIRL.

Goodbye Sunline Reply to this message
Was very sad to hear of the demise of Sunline last week. I used to go see her race whenever I could, and took many photographs of her at the track. Her 2000 Cox Plate win, by 7 lengths, will always be in my memory- at the track, we were all dumbfounded as to how good she was that day.I remember cheering at the top of my lungs! It's hard to believe she is gone- she always seemed so tough & invincible. Even when she was beaten by Northerly, she always tried her best. She was a true champion- and she knew it. Bye girl.
