| SUNLINE WAS THE GREATEST MARE I HAVE EVER SEEN RACE. SHE DIED TOO YOUNG BECAUSE OF GREEDY OWNERS WHO FORCED HER TO HAVE FOAL AFTER FOAL.SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN A BIG PADDOCK GALLOPING AROUND WITH A RACING BUDDY FOR COMPANIONSHIP. TOO MUCH WEIGHT AND NOT ENOUGH EXERCISE CAUSES LAMINITIS....GO FIGURE!!!! ANYWAY SHE IS PROBABLY A LOT HAPPIER IN HORSE HEAVEN.ALL SOME PEOPLE CARE ABOUT IS MONEY ...NOT THE WELFARE OF THE ANIMAL... | Was very sad to hear of the demise of Sunline last week. I used to go see her race whenever I could, and took many photographs of her at the track. Her 2000 Cox Plate win, by 7 lengths, will always be in my memory- at the track, we were all dumbfounded as to how good she was that day.I remember cheering at the top of my lungs! It's hard to believe she is gone- she always seemed so tough & invincible. Even when she was beaten by Northerly, she always tried her best. She was a true champion- and she knew it.
