| Apparently, Augusta Proud will running be in the Golden Slipper. After the Magic Millions, trainer Leon Macdonald was concerned about her being shin-sore, but left her in Sydney after the Magic Millions to see how she had coped with the run. "She was a bit touchy on her shins after the race," Macdonald said. "I don't want to kill her, but she was going home on the Wednesday and I thought, 'Why not leave her in Sydney and see how she is?' ". Well... my view is Augusta proud should not run in the Slipper. If her legs felt it after she brilliantly won the Magic Millions, then she's doomed to be buggered in the Slipper. It seems owner's greed may ruin a fantastic filly who otherwise would have a great future ahead. But no... the lure of the dollars is too irresistible! It's a big mistake. |
