| rachmorrell...maybe you need some mentoring if you too want to be a good punter. My advice is to first subscribe to a good database - The Virtual Formguide (www.virtualformguide.com /index.shtml). Secondly, start familiarising youself with all the top trainers and jockeys. Then start familiarisng yourself with all the top horses because they are the ones that will be shining in the Melbourne carnivals that are coming up. Good luck! |

| dont waste yor time rach, he is a dreamer coz only a tiny percentage of his bets come thru, also if he claims to be winning all these profits by now he would be so loaded with cash that it makes you wonder why he just sits on his computer instead of being out there living the hi life with all that money. |

Listen rachmorrell... how do you explain what I've just said? There were over 300 horses running today... I suggested people back two of them for a place bet and the two got a place as I predicted. You can't say that's bull! Read my earlier posts.
So again, how did I decide on two horses out of over 300 running today? Did I wave a magic wand? Did God call me with the tips? Was it guess work? I'll tell you... it's because I spent four hours reading the form in order to deduce that these two were ideal horses to back for a place.
You can kid youself as much as you want rachmorrell, but as I have said, I win because I do my homework... and I know my form. |

<<Now... I'm not one to stray into remote country racing but I see Darwin's racing carnival culminates with the Darwin Cup. I think the Adelaide horses Bradstar and Nozi have a good chance to be in the places.>>
Well... that's what I said last night. Congratulations to those that followed what I said. I used my Unitab account. 2nd place Nozi paid $2.00 for a place and 3rd place Bradstar paid $1.70 for a place. I outlayed $400 ($200 place on each) and got back $740 in total. That's a whopping 85% return over two minutes of racing.
rachmorrell, I don't know what your problem is... but racing works very well for me... buddy. Instead of whinging like you do, you'd have been better off backing my tips instead of being negative. I make money on the horses and lots of it. That's why people like me are on easy street and people like you will always be losers.
By the way, the other tip I gave (Mr Sunset - Sale Race 4) was scratched. Watch for him, though. |

Yeah... that's why you have to work to earn a miserable dollar and I study from to earn a lovely profit each punting day!
If you were at all smart, you'd question how there are so many professional punters here, in the UK, in Ireland, in Hong Kong and in the States. Don't knock something you have no idea about! |

rachmorrell... nobody should be backing horses, dabbling in stocks and shares, or even risking their money setting up a business, without doing their homework! Did you know 9 out of 10 new businesses go broke within the first two years?
Now, horse racing is not about gambling. That's what I thought when I was in my youth. But knowing your horses, trainers, jockies is like knowing about Manchester United or Cadell Evans or Federer. The secret is knowing the form and studying track work and recent performance.
But please, don't dabble on the horses, you will only lose with your attitude. People like me thrive on horse racing because we know what we are doing! |

grry_hart... professional punting is about getting a return on the day... not about winning trifectas or quinellas or whatever.
I'll tell you a secret. A place bet on a horse that is rated a good chance is the way to go. In a field of 8 horses (like we often see in Sydney) you end up with a 1 in 2 chance of getting a place. And if it's one of the favoured horses, you will get a place 9 times out of 10.
I work on a 12 % return. So if a place bet pays $1.12 for a place, I'm happy. As you know, most place prices for favourites are better than $1.20.
So that's what I do. It's just that I bet $100 or $200 or whatever each time, so my return in dollar terms is significant. |

If any of you feel brave enough to risk a bob or two at Sale, you might like to put $100 place on Mr Sunset (Race 4)... but as I write I have no idea of the likely track condition. A slow track should be ideal, but I'm only 60% confident...
Good luck!!!! |

Guys... hope you had a good Saturday. I did. I made just short of a $440 profit on a total outlay of $2,000 using s handful of place bets. Not one of my best efforts but a profit for the day is a profit, and I'm not grumbling.
Now... I'm not one to stray into remote country racing but I see Darwin's racing carnival culminates with the Darwin Cup. I think the Adelaide horses Bradstar and Nozi have a good chance to be in the places. |

Wher is grry_hart?
Grry_hart... congratulations if you backed my cryptic tip! My advice to you in effect was that the choice of horse to put the $100 place bet on was for you to "Consider Yourself".
Well... "Consider Yourself" won paying $4.20 for the win and $1.80 for the place (Brisbane Race 8). So grry_hart, should have picked up about $180 by my reckoning... that's an $80 profit. Where esle can you get an 80% return, not per annum, but only in approximately one minute?
Well done grry_hart... I'm sure you were smart enough to work out my tip! |

| Hahahahahahaha!! Like i care what your opinion is!!! I've achieved enough tangible things in the racing game fella not to worry what an insignicant bit of snot like yourself thinks! You've achieved nothing and you know nothing and you make up for that by denegrating everyone else. |
