| The last one flew in for 4th. Oh well you can't win em all but worth following that horse. I will be backing Jimmy Jump for a place at the next at Rotorua (R6). |

| Yesterday, I mentioned Seafarer (which came 4th today) was nominated for Saturday's $150,000 Aurie's Star Hcp (1200m) at Moonee Valley but couldn't get a run. Well, I'm pleased to say that El Segunda will be running in that race on Saturday with Damien Oliver on his back. I don't have to tell you to back him! |

only_for_places... every now and again if I see what I believe will be a sure thing when it next runs (because of its brilliant performance in a race) I enter it in my little "black book". It becomes one of my black book specials, and depending on whether it will be a likely favourite or mid to long shot price at its next race, I bet accordingly. Van Gogh turned out to be a hot favourite so I was prepared to go all out. It paid off this time. If it had been a longer price chance I'd have just gone place.
But the race is run. We look to a new day for more pickings. Nothing good running tomorrow, I'm afraid.
I know we have some sceptical folks contributing here, but just think of this... if you can make al least $1,000 profit a week every week, that's $52,000 a year tax free. To work for that sort of money, your must earn a gross wage for the year of about $80,000. Well, I say sod the work... back the horses... make the money... enjoy the leisure time and quality of life!
Just watch out for my next tip... place betting only betting! |

Ooooops… I took a punt on Seafarer… $500 place. Bugger… he came 4th. But then, I did know the risks. Sorry if you lost but I’ll get your money back another day.
Yesterday at 2.40 pm, after congratulating anyone who backed my tip “Themosticles”, I made the following comment <<<Tomorrow is Sandown I have one in my little black book to follow again called Van Gogh. But first I just have to do a little bit more homework on him.>>>
Well…. “Van Gogh” won Sandown Race 5 (Win $2.50 Place $1.30). I used my Unitab account, and being one of my black book bets, I bravely plonked $500 on the nose… thank goodness.
So for a total outlay today of $1,000 I got back $1,250… a $250 profit for the day. Can’t grumble! |

Seafarer is a lightly raced 5-year-old gelding by Scenic and is running in Race 6 at Sandown (1300 meters) tomorrow. His racing record in Perth to date is as follows:
Belmont - 16/08/06 - 1st of 14 at 1000 meters
Belmont - 26/08/06 - 1st of 11 at 1200 meters
Belmont - 09/08/06 - 5th of 9 at 1400 meters
Belmont - 23/09/06 - 2nd of 9 at 1200 meters
He was subsequently transferred to David Hayes at Lyndsay Park. He has been in Melbourne for the last two weeks and has had a jump-out at Flemington.
I note that Seafarer was nominated for Saturday's $150,000 Aurie's Star Hcp (1200m) at Moonee Valley but was number 26 in the order of entry in that Listed race with little hope of gaining a start, as it is limited to 10 runners plus four emergencies.
If David Hayes considered the horse good enough to run in a listed race on Saturday, I think he should easily get a place tomorrow in mid-week company.
The risks to consider are as follows:
1. He has never raced in Melbourne.
2. It’s his first run from a long spell
3. He’s lightly raced for a 5 year old
4. He probably prefers a good track
5. 1200 meters is his distance
The positives are:
1. Trained by champion trainer David Hayes.
2. To be ridden by champion jockey Craig Williams
3. He’s obviously considered to be a good sort.
Back him for a $500 place. It should pay about $1.60 which means a return of $800. |

So what? Not all the favourites win all day, neither do all the horses tipped by the tipsters.
Old mate is pointing out which horse he wants to have a bet on. So someone agrees with him. So what?
Look...i find it hard to digest the self-congratatulory baloney as well, but it's not up to me to decide the tone of the forum.
It's about racing. And racing attracts all types. |

Here we go again... he_follows_the_tipsters is once again obsessed with whether my tip was a favourite or picked by the tipsters. Hell, 11 horses ran in the race... I'm sure probably each horse was tipped by someone somewhere.
he_follows_the_tipsters just doesn't get it... he just had to back the nag as I suggested and collect the winnings. Easy money! But no..... |
