Re:injury list Reply to this message
I was led to believe there was more damage than initially thought, maybe a 5 or 6 week injury. But they can't say for sure when it will be right.

Bit like Gilham, they kept saying 'he may be back this week' before each game, and we are a fair way down the track and they still don't know when we'll see him return.

Re:injury list Reply to this message
Yep, they say Ellis this week, Hodge next week and Ladson the week after.

Moss, Bailey, Boyle, Croad and Gilham are all indefinite at this stage. We could sure use Croad and Gilham down back though, so I hope they get up sometime this season.

Re:injury list Reply to this message
I hope for a good game (but a flogging by the Hawks will do too) :)

The Roos success OFF the field has made 2008 a good year for the club anyway - but ON field success will help the cause for 2009!

Either way, the Roos won't be regretting their GC decision just yet (and hopefully never will!).

I wish them the best and I know the spirit at that club will make it too proud to lay down and die on saturday! I know you've mentioned your partial desire to see the side 'tank' (ooh, that word again!), but I doubt we'll EVER see a North side not play to win.

Re:injury list Reply to this message
Bateman, Crawford, Sewell, Taylor, Guerra, Croad agreed nye they are in our best and guerra use of the ball is probably only second to hodgey in hitting the target
ammatt am sure you dont rate croad but check out the players he has beaten this year and goals kicked on him,he was probably number 1 last year for goals against his body strenth a feature

Re:injury list Reply to this message
Muston and Bailey are unfortunate - especially Bailey, he was going to be very good for us. Shame for these two, but you are right, their careers look to have ended before they began.

Bit harsh on Croad - all australian and played for Victoria this year. He is underrated due to a few aspects of his past. Definately in our best 18.

Guerra also, he uses the ball so well and keeps calm under pressure - he is vital for our backline.

Crawf is still elite, he is the experienced head we need - and still as fit as they come, he runs all day!

Taylor is also half of an underrated ruck combo that seems to hold its own against some of the biggest ruck names in the comp.

so that is 6 guys (Bateman, Crawford, Sewell, Taylor, Guerra, Croad) who will always make our best 22 at least, 5 in the best 18 - Taylor tends to start on the bench.

Stokes has only played a couple of games and was always mentioned along side Rioli early on. He's a handy player, but before he was injured he was playing for Box Hill anyway - and not very well for that matter.

At the end of the day though, 6 key players SHOULD be coverable for a side in contention for a flag. At this point we have managed to keep winning - we've also covered the losses of Dew, Hodge, Mitchell, Lewis and Brown throughout the year too - so I'm happy we have good depth.

Re:injury list Reply to this message
honest truth.....

Muston will never play , Bailey most likely as well.

brown's to say you've 7 first 18 out is an absolute joke.

Bateman ...... yes

Crawford ..... at his age its more likely for him to be injured than not.!!!

Croad is pretty ordinary , i think most would agree.

Guerra i don't he is one opposition coaches lose sleep over.

Sewell ..... yep you'll miss him.

Taylor is ok.

Stokes ...... pfft what eva.

Muston..... was a silly draft pick .

so for me its Sewell , Bateman & Crawford.

nah mate we had 7 first team players out on sat would be nice to get them all out having said that murphy and morton have really stepped up to the plate
sewell is the biggest lose lets hope guerra is back this week he has had the hamstring 4 week lay off so should return our bigger bodied players such as him,dew and hodge are a great asset

Re:injury list Reply to this message
Not looking good is it browny!

Gotta feel for Bailey, the guy returns to the field and goes down again - can't be a good sign for his career!

Crawf has been on 'test' for 3 weeks now, still may miss the North clash. Sewell better be fit for Geelong, we need him. Guerra, Crawford, Bateman and Croad will be vital for the Swans in 3 weeks - fingers crossed they are all available!
