"knock off the 35,000 "
????????????????
---
We broke 35,000 for the first time earlier this year, and now are nearly at the 40,000. All I was saying is that both milestones could go in the same year, a fair effort I'd say. Though a lot of these members would be people looking to get their hands on GF tickets! (bit early guys - but we'll take you money anyway!) |

| Just said this on the v pies thread, but the membership is now 38,005. 2,000 more and we knock off the 35,000 AND 40,000 for the first time this season! The aim of 50,000 members by 2012 is actually looking realistic now, especially if we keep playing as well as we have been! |

chokdee, your original comment was: "those figures must surely prove that Hawthorn supporters are the masters of coming out of the wood work when their teams having success."
Now you claim you said: "the Hawks arent different to any other club, when it comes to supporters coming out of the wood work."
I guess I am really thick, can you explain to me how being a master of something makes you no different to everyone else? |

Chokdee - yawn.
You're but a new blow-in. Great. Seen several dozen of your ilk come & go.
Thin-skinned? Hardly, just noting that in the oh-so-short time you've been here, you avail yourself every opportunity to vomit your bile on the Hawks.
Yet again, get a life. |

Awesome membership numbers considering the cost of living these days with petrol, intreest rates ect, alot of families are feling the pinch so that is awesome that the hawks memebers are prepared to spend onour clubs future...well done ALL the members.
just on tasmania i am with you nye, brissie is god to at the gabba but.....
TAsmania is an awesome place to take the kids, we went last year for a game on the boat, toured the island port arthur ect and the game on sunday, not boring at all, sooo much better than the commercial cr%p of theme parks on the goldie, but thats just us. |

| You're suprised by my alleged abuse to Hawthorn, talk about people being thin skinned, I only stated a fact that the Hawks arent different to any other club, when it comes to supporters coming out of the wood work. Are rbrownoze, carrickbrian and yourself indicative of the real Hawk supporters, lets hope not. By the way if thats abuse feel free to report me and the Yahoo mods may tell you that you're the one who should invest in a life. |

Oh yeah, all the success Hawthorn have had since 1996! Let's see - 1997 (the year we more than doubled our membership) we finished 15th, we've made the finals in 2000, 2001 and 2007. Geez, 3 years in the finals - what an era of success we've had!!!!!!
Are you a Demons supporter? If so, you surely cannot claim anyone else's supporters are fickle. I know Dees fans who don't even watch the footy atm, if they were to string 3 on the trot they'd be painting their houses blue and red! |

| Just on 36,000 Hawthorn members a remarkable turn around from 12,000 when the club hit rock bottom, those figures must surely prove that Hawthorn supporters are the masters of coming out of the wood work when their teams having success. |

I go to the Brissie game every year - will be there again next week. The Hawks have played Brisbane up here EVERY year bar 1 since they entered the comp! I've been from 1997 onwards, twice in 2006 as we played 'home' at Carrara. This will be game 13 - I've seen us win TWICE! 1998 (worst game EVER!) and 2000.
Fingers crossed it is lucky 13! |

Have you ventured down to Tassie rbrownoz?
If not, I suggest you go. Take a walk around city park before hand, check out the monkeys, kick a footy etc - aaah, the memories. I used to catch the mighty Sth Launceston Bulldogs when they played Nth Launceston at York Park - always copped a flogging, but I still enjoyed the day!
The next 2 at the ground are on a Saturday, so stay Sunday and visit Cataract Gorge, might be a bit cold, but I used to love that place - take a chair lift ride or walk accross the suspension bridge, feed the peacoks etc. Great place to take kids.
I should really get a job with Tourism Tasmania! |
