What a flea, being a winner of 2 in the USA and the fact he led all the way, that is no fluke. He plays the game well and deserves any rewards that come his way. Get a life and maybe try a little golf to understand the game

| Hitting a hole in 1 is a fluke. Winning a major takes 4 days of great golf! |

| I agree with you in the entirety of your statement,I wonder if this is the same person that stated two years ago that Ogilvy's win was a fluke, I think there could be some envy in the retort and no praise for the talent of someone capable of staying focused enough to stay ahead against some of the best golfer's in the world. |

| I considered leaving this comment alone but it needs putting in perspective, this person isn't a sandwich short of a picnic, he doesn't even know the picnic is on. Or could he be an employee of the Pgatour web site, an entire report dedicated to the poor fortunes of Woods and the lucky chip of Ogilvy. Didn't Woods chip in twice for eagle???. What about the other 3 players who finished closer to the winner than Woods, well they reported their scores and little else, not even last year's USA hero, Furyk. Ogilvy had 1 bogey all weekend, he held his composure over the 72 holes, the rest couldn't match that, Ogilvy wins and thats that. |

| gong gong or wotever your name is, after reading yr short note i was about to go into a barrage of comments back to you but after reading all the other lovely replies putting you in your right place i dont think i need to waste anymore of my time and will leave it to others to reply to your most stupid note. ogilvy is an excellent golfer like many of the other big names in a very competitive sport and whether it was he who won or garcia or scott you probably would have made the same silly remark. go back and play with your chopsticks.. |

| Why was it a Fluke,,did he chip in or something???.Golfers have to do it for 4 rounds,so unless they chip in or do something out of the box to beat someone, its hardly a fluke. He might not play as well in his next event, but he was the best over 4 days in this event,so give the guy credit, its better than seeing Woods win every thing in sight. |

| Hi this is glass half full. You need to understand that playing any high intensity sport that require's more than talent. You need grit, strength and tenacity. However you still need the cards to fall your way. However you need to understand the most important thing is to be in that position to win the prize on the final day, the back nine, the last hole or playoff (if there would have been one). Golf is a 72 hole tournament, Mickleson grinded 70, Furyk and Monty 71. Geoff dug deep even after bombing his drive only to find divot, flushing a nine iron for it to come up 2m short of a tap in birdie, then played the 2nd best chip of his life (chipping in on the previous hole)and holed that putt on last on a glass staircase. Fluke |

Without sports personalities, who present themselves in the public domain, simply for funding of charitable ideals.
Those funds are raised for the disabled and certain research programs, in their many and numerous forms.
The projects we are talking about, would not be able to research half of what they have done to date.
Through that lack of cash flow,so dont knock something or someone that is capable of doing some good wherever the is being done. |

With your logic no one would be able to win a Gold Medal for their country.
Some people play sport for the actual enjoyment of that indidvidual sport.
Through this they are noticed in the respect of their endeavours that they have something that the majority dont have an incentive and a lot of talent.
Unless this incentive, drive or talent is not nurtured as 90% of most countries do i.e Russia ,China .
We would have nations, or even an overflowing world of Sofa Potato heads who only lift their arm when drinking a beer whilst watching TV. |

I can't believe anyone with any Golfing ability or knowledge of the game would actually say this.
To win anything ,especially one of the coveted major titles then have, some one sledge them as it being fluked.lol!!!!
To win any one of the four majors, is no mean feat and it takes a considerable amount of skill and character to achieve this level.
I suppose the World Matchplay title is another one of his so called flukes.
Some very talented Golfers throughout the world of golf never ever achieve this standing so lets not slur anyone with obvious ability with some rubbish remark. |

| Ogilvy is doing a great impression of a decent golfer who is in position to "fluke" another major for 2006 (PGA one shot back mid way stages). How many majors would a person need to fluke before gaining some much deserved respect....2, 3, 4? |

A fluke?
hardly, by your reasoning, if the front runners were to crash, fall, become dehydrated, run out of gas, break a mast, and so and so on, every subsequent winner was therefore and will be forever "a fluke"!
Lack of intelligent thought before posting it seems! |

| I don't think anyone should get government funding for sports. Especially olympic athletes. If you can't preform well enough to be a fee-drawing contestant you should fall by the wayside. Darwinism should apply to sport more than any other field of society. The Strong, Charismatic Skilfull athletes survive because people will pay to see skill. |
