Golf: Late woes see Campbell slide down
New 8:56AM Friday September 07, 2007
CRANS-MONTANA, Switzerland - Poor finishing holes pushed New Zealand golfer Michael Campbell off the leaderboard at the European Masters in Switzerland today.
Campbell moved into a share of second place on three under par with back-to-back birdies on the 14th and 15th holes of the Crans-sur-Sierre course.
Then he undid all the good work by double bogeying the par three 16th, and dropped a further shot on the 17th to end the day all square on 71.
It cost him 20 places on the leaderboard |

| You made quite a spelling mistake. His trade mark is the "Fizzer". He always crashed out. I see he got 12th equal which was a good effort. 12th in that very weak field will do his ego good. Unfortunately his ego is the reason he consistantly finshes at the trail of the field. |

Here's something to give Ron's Irritable Bowel Syndrome a bit of a hurry-up.
I reckon that if Michael Campbell produces one of his trademark "sizzlers" in the final round (say a 64 or 65) he'll most likely take out the championship.
Even if he plays like he has for the first three rounds, he'll earn a motza.
Have a nice day Ron! |

Ron will only reply if he thinks he has bad news to post about MD. The ultimate loser! Only picks things to talk about that he thinks benefits his argument and ignores the rest.
Feel pity for him that he can only get noticed by writing inaccurate dribble on this thread. |

I think it's either love or envy.
Never mind Ron, you'll grow out of it in time. |

| Apparently not with you though, Ron. He seems to spark quite a re-action from you more than anyone else. Campbell must be doing something right. |

Thanks for your comments. I enjoyed watching the 2nd round did you. MC performed as expected 9 over I see just plain
embarassing and pathetic. Although you sheep following him are worst, always excuses, well look else who failed, and its hot, travel etc etc. Champions never make excuses, and the fact he is still even accepting money to paticipate in this hallowed sport is a disgrace. He is ruining NZ's god name, he must retire and immediatly.
embarassing. Think |

He's going better than Jim Furyk, Vijay Singh, Zac Johnson, and a bunch of other tour winners. Let's wait and see how the second round goes.
Have a nice day Ron, and if watching MC play golf upsets you, try some Mylanta - it's good for indigestion and minor ailments. |

My thread was meant to imply that we get an Aussie in the first, second or third place. We have a huge amount of talented Aussie golfers, and per capita, probably the best stats. Lately though, say in their last ten tour starts, we've only had Baddeley and Richard Green as winners. Some of the others have had leading positions in either first, second or third rounds, but have faltered in the run home.
In the coming PGA, let's hope that they improve. |

what? As well as not being able to speak English....you can't understand it either? So So Sad!!!
Compare Australia in size to other golfing powerhouses like America, Spain, England, Korea etc and we are tiny as far as a population is concerned. And our Junior program is no where developed as some of these nations.
So with that said......yes we are a small country. There are cities that have a larger population than Australia. |

Lets hope the Aussies improve in the PGA?
Rankings:
5 - Adam Scott
10 - Geoff Ogilvy
26 - Nick O'Hern
28 - Stuart Appleby
29 - Aaron Baddeley
30 - Rich Green
32 - Robert Allenby
36 - Rod Pampling
That's 8 inside the top 40. Pretty good effort for such a small country. |

You are right, my friend. The diversion was fun, not stupid. The word just came to mind - I was probably thinking about newzealandron's attempts to stir the pot.
Have a nice day, and let's hope the Aussies can improve in the PGA. |

| I agree. Especially in regards to Tiger Woods. (As for the English debate, I thought it was all just fun, not a stupid diversion) |

Yes, the English debate is a stupid diversion.
Tiger is a freak, and one of the best putters you will ever see.
Michael's final score can be measured by the host of tour winners who finished worse than him. Like most of them, on his day he's a force to be reckoned with. |
