You sound a bit bitter and twisted.
I of course, understood what your´..phrase.. indicated.
BUT... as I hate cliches....
Why could you not just say what you meant?
Has not played that much golf...
As a newcomer to this thread... I re capped and found Ron to be (presumably) a New Zealander...
Well, I dont know why he and I should want to deride MC if he is as good as you suggest
a delicious prospect would be that MC wins The Open this Year!!!! |

| John, about time a well presented argument was put forward in defence of M.C. I look forward to Ron's learned response. |

You don't know what under-golfed means? Maybe your brain is under utilised. Whatever ... don't underrate Michael Campbell.
Admittedly the word is used mostly in the vernacular as in 'I'm a bit under-golfed at present' and simply means he hasn't been playing enough golf lately to be sharp or competitive. He should play at least 20 tournaments a year in my view.
That'd give you and Ron at least 20 chances a year to deride him. What a delicious prospect that must be for you. |

Do any of you actually play golf with any degree of competence or follow it in any depth?
If you did and if you have followed Michael around a golf course (even in recent times) you would know he will be back without doubt. As well, a study of his recent cards shows an abundance of birdies albeit currently outweighed by double bogeys. He may not win another major, but he will win again. His second round at the Masters was 75, about average for the day, which was not bad for golfer who had been out of play for three months or more.
He is undeniably under-golfed at present. I hope he plays more in 2009.
At the end of 2008 he was showing a real return to form and, significantly, his European tour caddy, Peter Coleman went on record as saying that, in his view, Cambo was on the verge of playing back at his best. Coleman was Bernhard Langer's caddy for 22 years and has worked with many other top players over the years. Unlike many people involved in this cruel conversation, he knows what he's talking about.
Incidentally, Coleman's opinion has been echoed by the likes of Ernie Els. But Ron, you probably think Ernie has gone for good as well.
Steve Stricker, Ben Curtis, Lee Jansen, Andy North, Lee Westwood and Karrie Webb are just some of the many golfers who went off the boil for awhile only to storm back to top form after most people had written them off.
Those who can do. Those who can't criticise.

| How long do you go from a slump to a bum? Nearly 3 years now without a win, 3 years of missing cuts most of the time, hitting in the 80's..... just embarrassing. |

I think some people have no idea how difficult top golf is these days. Every golfer goes through slumps as is Michael Campbell, give him a break cos I think he will be back.
I do think though, sometimes he should control his comments
to the media prior to events. The public expect too much at times.

Yep, it's me again Ron!
You're a typical whingeing do-nothing, as usual.
If you look at the other guys who missed the cut, you'll see a few major winners there, but you can't see past your one jaundiced eye.
Don't worry mate, he'll earn more this year with one good shoulder than you will ever see. Talent is talent. His is directed towards earning a living, yours is being the eternal knocker. |

Golf: Campbell still struggling for form
8:30AM Friday Mar 27, 2009
Michael Campbell has struggled in his latest comeback to top level golf.
The former US Open champion has been sidelined since last October with a nagging shoulder injury.
Campbell has carded a seven over par 77 in the opening round of the PGA Tour's Arnold Palmer Invitational in Florida. His round included three double bogeys, one of them on the last hole. |

When he wins, Ron, I'll be the first to write in.
In the meantime, while we're talking about embarrassment, please invest in "spellcheck" and download a good grammar tutorial, there's a good boy! |

| Thye reality is I said he would never win again. And depite hundreds of people bagging me, lets face it he stillhasnt won anythig, has embraased himself and not even made the cut most of the time. As I said hes over and dont comment again until he wins. So that means there should be no more entries! |

You know Ron, I really shouldn't be wasting my time like this, but..................
Michael Campbell is a very, very good golfer, as you well know, and WE know that you are just stirring s**t.
The list of Champion golfers, and I mean real Major winners, who have not won during the last two years, is fairly extensive - and some of the biggest money earners have NEVER won a Major.
Give Michael a break mate, or I'll have to replace the "mo" after newzealand in your pen name. |

| And here I am. For three years with Michael losing everything you gave me no credit. Yet he performs for 3-4 weeks and you are scrambling for my blood. He has still NOT won anything and has now "hurt" himslef again and is taking more time off. He is just not up to it anymore and is indeed an embarrasment. I notice no one commented when he missed dozens of cuts! |
