Jason, Jason, Calm down. He made sure he did qualify for the US as he knows the fields are too strong for him. Lets just sit here and watch how he plays the next 12 months. If he wins I will get on my knees and bid you all a humble apology, of course if he keeps losing I expect you to do the same.

Also I wouldn't call a tournament with Westwood,Goosen,Garcia,Cl ark,Donald,Poulter,Harrin gton,McGinley,Jimenez a weak field by any means.

NZron once again you get the facts totally wrong, you need to just give up....Michael Campbell isn't avoiding playing in the U.S PGA tournaments because it's too strong. I thought you knew something about golf. Because he didn't fulfill the 15-tournament U.S P.G.A obligation in 2003, he only played 14 tournaments,Campbell is limited to 10 events a season for the next five years. And he picks and plays all 10 tournaments he is allowed. He has said many times it's a stupid technicality and he would play much more if he was allowed. Disapointed in you Ron messing up on more simple facts.

I don't think Michael Campbell is done, he's just a hot and cold player. He either plays really good or really bad..

By the way his 59th place was in a very weak field. But hey he made the cut. I'm sure he surprized himself.

Lets get real. He "Just made the cut, barely. Then was only came in at the bottom of the field. He's gone, he only has a "B" game which is why he has avoided playing in the US where the quality is so much better, I doubt he could last the year on the circuit.

MC Made the cut again and again defying your odds at making any proffessional cut, So that in itself is an acheivement. Also he made $9400 Euro over $19000 NZD Probabley more than you made over the last four days?

I don't see any comments about Michael's latest performance. Another embarrassment. Tied for 59th place, in the Deutshe Open. But he made the cut, so go you good thing go.

I am not saying his win was not a great acheivement. But he is a one win wonder. Anyone can win on their day in golf, but to do it often is th measure of a champion. He is too inconsistant, and mentally he doesn't have what it take to go to the next level.

Ireland - Michael Campbell's British Open golf preparations were given a jolt when he was bundled out of the European Open in Ireland today.
Campbell, carded disappointing rounds of 72 and 75 to miss the halfway cut by a stroke with a three-over-par total of 147.
Campbell's second round included two birdies, three bogeys but also a third hole double bogey. |

I think people have come to expect big things from Michael since he won the US Open, if you look back at his career he has always been inconsistent and this isn't going to change. He often wins and in a matter of weeks is missing cuts. I believe he will win plenty more times in his career but I think there is no point getting on his back when he is'nt performing. In other words lets enjoy his successes.
