I'm sure they make a difference, i have watched my son reduce his handicap from high 20's to now single figures and i believe that once he was off 16 it was time for new clubs as he was caught on that 16.

They don't have to be "expensive" although that is a subjective term. What do you call expensive?

What they do need to be though is correctly fitted to you!

Right swing weight
Right shaft length
Right lie angle

And the Ultimate is "frequency matched" as far as the shaft is concerned right through all the clubs.

Quality IS related to price but there are better Value for money purchases than others!

The BEST Irons available here in Australia for their price
can be found in the KZG range. These are STUNNING
see www.kzgolf.com

There are limited number of distributors in AUS but worth finding the one in your state

They are the finest irons I have ever hit

The new Technology that has been introduced into golf club manufacturing is amazing compared to 20-30 years ago

The effect is especially seen in the "Woods"
Better quality of light weight materials and the increased head volume this allows have revolutionised the Driver

If you can drive better..hit more fairways..and longer.....then you will hit more greens

Remember though you still score with the 7iron-SW and Putter

thx reganhelen, I had clubs fitted at Drummonds and they took into account my swing etc...Admittedly I don't get to the range but I'm tending to agree that the clubs have definately improved my game...

Yes they do!
Even better if you get them fitted, weighted and shafted to match your swing speed.
Lots of range time.
Pros do all of this for a reason, so should we!

I always thought that it was a mental thing 'Daryl.smith' I am not so sure now though. But as you say some professionals still have their favourite old putter/club/clubs and still doing well in comps. Golf is definately a confidence game. Thx for your comment

I would guess that it is a mental win for you, as I have seen many a pro still using old and what some would consider outdated equipment. whatever the reason its working for you.

Do expensive clubs improve your game Reply to this message
I have the Taylormade 'Burner' driver and 3, 5 fairway woods. My view has changed since buying these clubs. The technology into these clubs is awesome. I was stuck on 18 handicap for ages and now on 15.6. Whether it's the clubs or mental I don't know but my golf has definately improved in my driving and fairway shots...all I need is the irons to suit. Anyone know of golf shop/club that has 'Burner' irons at a reasonable price in the Brisbane area...
