| Not sure how its insensitive by keeping the fans updated on whats happening, surely its the right thing to do. And he did have the screws removed before, as it said in the article after they caused complications. Maybe you should try reading things at least once, if not 2 or 3 times to better help you with your comprehension which is lacking. He hasn't had surgery unnecessarily. |

| GEELONG defender Matthew Egan has had further surgery for his chronic foot problem with screws removed on Monday. Egan will be on crutches for the next month as a result. The 25-year-old was named All-Australian centre half-back after the 2007 season, but missed the finals that year after fracturing the navicular bone in his right foot in a contest with Lion Jonathan Brown in round 22. He has not played since but has had a bone graft and screws inserted and later removed when they caused complications. Geelong football manager Neil Balme said this bout of surgery was something that was always required. "There was always going to be a time and it was always going to be about now when they went in and took out the screws, because that's what you do," Balmesaid. "Obviously he's had to go to hospital to have it done, and he'll be on crutches for a little while. "We're just flagging it so that if anyone sees him on crutches, they'll know why that is. "It has no impact on his condition ... we're just letting people know what's happening." ------ read today that they should know in Dec what the long term prognosis is, that should see him signed on for 1 more yr and continual support from the yr. |

| So very true ferrat, no-one can predict the outcome of the Grand Final, and last years proved that. As a Geelong supporter I just hope that they dont make the same mistakes, and continue to prove that they are the best side in the comp. on that most important day. Go the Kitties !!!! |

| cats have the best list by far and this will most likely get them the minor prem. but is no guarantee of aflag as 08 showed. with worjinski left out i rated cats and hawks on equal pionts.something obviously cats hierarchy didn,t calculate.07 got it right with blake but wrong with woza.you can only field 22 and cats best 22 is not much better than other top sides and could easiely be bettered with injuries and poor selection.take the lesson of 08 and learn to be smart and alert don,t get suck in by media most grand finals are up for grabs and the team who wants it the most usually wins as was the case with the hawks in 08 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
