fos, what this thread is talking about is the Cats as a whole, not just 1 player. Looking at the team as a whole they have received 332 free kicked this yr, while the Hawks sit 2nd with 320 free kicks received this yr - so for a team that has it better then others (according to you), why does your team sit 2nd on the free kicks for list then?

Cats then sit 5th on free kicks against. Surely if it was one set of rules for Geelong then they would be 16th on free kicks against, but they have given away more then 11 other teams - not much favourtism there.

and do you think you could stop trolling on the Cats boards - you said the other week you would leave this forum alone, be nice if you stuck to.

Look at the top 3 players for free's for-

J. Selwood - 40
Swallow (Nth) - 36
Bolton - 35
A. Selwood - 29
Kirk - 28

What is noticable about that list is that all the players put their bodies on the line and go in hard for the ball. They don't stand back waiting for easy possessions. But I guess you don't care about those things brownoz.

Regarding Corey & Bartel, Corey has 27 frees, while Bartel has 23 which is less then Mitchell & equal with Sewell, so if your going to critise the Geelong players for their frees are you going to critise the Hawk players who have more?

And since you really get pissed off with the number of free's that Selwood has, why don't you look at the more telling stat of "free's per game" which Kerr leads with an ave of 2.6 frees per game, more then any other player. Base numbers don't say much when your talking about players with different number of games.

if you only did this once I would accept that excuse, but you know you only post that carp in the Cats threads, never seen you post anything like that in the Hawks threads so there is no way it was a mistake.

brat i dont know why u always come into the hawks thread and throw jibes and resort to such blatant trolling
---

maybe you should do the same thing, because the only reason you post here is to throw jibes and resort to blatant trolling, so why not leave this place along for those who which to discuss issues actually relating to the GFC, not the Hawks

Yeah not sure the cats have it better than any other team and the stats seem to back that up. Might be a case of seeing what you want to believe.

Re:One set of rules for Geelong? Reply to this message
Considering that the Cats are ranked 4th in free's against for the yr, I can't see there being too much favoritism from the umps. They are a side that goes hard at the ball, they get a good number of free kicks, but so far this yr they have given away more then they have received (by 1). So I wouldn't say 1 set of rules for them compared with the rest of the comp.

The Cats are the number 1 handballing side in the comp and use that effectively, because they do handball a lot and often in tight situations where they are very quick, it might appear a throw but not sure I have actually seen any of them throw it.

As for the "in the back", are they fully in the guys back, did the guy drop his knees looking for a free kick, or have the Cats come in from behind but taken tackled the guy to the side?

One set of rules for Geelong? Reply to this message
I'm an ex-Melbournite living north of Sydney, and watching every game of footie on TV that I can.
Just yesterday I mentioned to my good mate (Woods supporter....blah !!!)that it seemed the umpires had one set of rules for Geelong, and another set for their opponents. The Cats get away with more throwing the ball than I used to see in the old VFA in Melbourne, where the throw was a legitimate pass. But if the opposing side tries the same type of pass, they get pinged. Same applies to free kicks for "in the back" when trying to tackle a player with the ball. Geelong always seem to get favoured treatment there too. Like to hear some comments.
