| It will be interesting now to see which rookie gets elevated next season - with Egan looking likely to be on the long term injury list you would expect Mumford to be elevated at the start of the yr, so the midseason elevation will be interesting to watch. |

I think you will find Ling is probably the only red head at the Cats - I can't think of any others currently in the team. More baldies then anything.
And I think the commentators might that the safe option of calling him 'Ed', but it could be interesting. |

*NEW South Wales teenager Ranga Ediriwickrama has accepted a place on a special scholarship rookie list at Geelong for next season.
The talented midfielder had the option of nominating for the draft after the Cats indicated they would not use one of their four picks in this month's national draft, despite having priority access to the 18-year-old.
Ediriwickrama captained the NSW/ACT Rams in the national under-18 championships earlier this year, where he starred before suffering a hamstring injury.
Ediriwickrama averaged 25 possessions in his first two standout games, while gathering 28 contested possessions in nine quarters, ranking him second for the carnival overall despite the injury.
All clubs lodged their revised lists for the first time yesterday, with the final order of the November 29 draft to be finalised after the second lodgement on November 14.
Geelong currently has picks 15, 33, 39 and 49 in the draft and is believed to be keen on Tom Swift, a medium-sized midfielder from Claremont, WA, who finished in the top five in the 20-sprint and top 10 in the beep test at the draft camp last month.*
Good news for the Cats with Ediriwickrama agreeing to be rookie listed, there was talk of him being a possible top 30 pick but he has taken a chance with the Cats so I hope they do the right thing by him. Also good that Mumford agreed to a new contract as Rookie for next year on the back of news that the Cats would promote him to the seniors list at the halfway point of the season under this new rookie list rule - he had offers from other clubs but he choose to stick with us, hope he gets a few games in the 2nd half of the year. |
