Calling brownose where are you? Is this the same way you treat your Hawthorn membership? Only sign up when the boys are playing well? I figured as much.

Yes brownose has a habit of not letting the truth get in the way of a good story. If he doesnt have the facts he just makes up bunch of lies to support his story. The best thing about all this is you know he is reading these threads he is just to embarrassed to reply hahaha!!

what I find funny about brownoz, is that for someone who claims to drive through Geelong every 2nd weekend to go to Torquay, he complained about the length of time it takes because they haven't yet built a bypass - silly me thought one 1st opened up over 6months ago with another part opening up just under 2 months ago.

its interesting, since the cats lost those 2 games in a row the flags again went down, fair weather fans some could argue
------------------------- ------

What is even more interesting is the person writing the post above has gone missing since the Hawks have started their 4 game losing streak and look almost certain to miss the finals.

What was that about fair weather fans brownose? Perhaps you can jump back on the Hawks bandwagon next year?

Re:best football ive seen played for age ... Reply to this message
The season's most important kick. If Hawthorn's Ian Law had kicked accurately late in the Round Seven match at Kardinia Park, Geelong would not have participated in the 1963 finals at all. He ran into an open goal late in the match to score a behind. The siren sounded with scores level. Had Geelong been defeated Essendon would have replaced it in the Final Four. By the end of the Home and Away matches the Bombers were only half a win behind the Cats, and possessed a superior percentage. That one slightly inaccurate kick by Law proved to be highly significant in determining the 1963 Premiership winner.

----

I really would like to thank the Hawks for their contribution to the Cats 63's granny. Good to see where Buddy learnt to kick

Re:best football ive seen played for age ... Reply to this message
I think the cats are currently out of top form, fortunately they have shown glimpses of their best and so far this has been enough to get them across the line. I think people are forgetting Geelong started in similar fashion in 2008 when they went on to win all but 1 of the H & A games. We had some real hard fought battles against the lions, dockers and then got belted by Collingwood. I think the secret to success for any AFL teams is to be able to grind out the win when your not in peak form and then hit your straps into September. Brisbane is a fine example of this. Whilst I am hoping Geelong can get across the line this week in Adelaide my gut is telling me there are some nice juicy odds for the crows.

You are spot on when you say that you'd rather the team not be peaking now, I agree. You want to build into a season, the Saints may be as good as they are going to get.

I think we are a bit of both with what you said. Some of our guys are in great form, but others aren't - once things click with guys in their new roles (Kelly is playing down back this yr, Chappy more in the midfield etc) it might allow them to play more of a 4 quarter game. But at the moment we just can't seem to lay that killer blow like we did towards the later half the h&a season last yr (prior to finals) and we did in 07.

The return of Harley should help, a few of the guys settle down, we work out how to kick for goal again & things may just click back into gear. The goal kicking would be a concern for some guys at the moment I guess - we haven't been too good at that since the g/f in any match, and that would be playing on the mind of more then a few guys, "what if I miss this", "should I pass this off", so probably a bit of 2nd guessing. Either a couple of losses that really sting, or a win like we had against the Tigers in 07 and we could turn things on - but just gutsing out the wins won't help us come finals time if we have guys who think 1 or 2 good quarters will win the game, and that someone else will step up.

After last week I won't be tipping against the Cats, but go for it if ya want :P

no issues with you posting here - doesn't worry me if someone has something serious to say, just hate it when people post for their own gain.

As for the form so far this season, the loss of Hunt & no having Harley at this stage is hurting. We would have been prepared for no Egan, but then to be without 2 experience guys, both from the backline & one of them is the captain doesn't help. Hopefully when Harley returns it will add some stability.

As for our form - signs aren't the best, but then you have to question teams like the Saints and if they can rise to that next level as the season progresses, is it better to be shaky now & have the ability to improve or to be looking pretty good right now?

I think we have a lot of work to do, but we will improve as the season goes. Unlike last yr were we were able to win without being brilliant, I would like to lose a few of those games this yr & make the players hurt & want to earn things like in 07. Not sure if being able to win after playing 1 good quarter is the best thing come finals time.

A few of our players were under done and are getting their match fitness at the moment which will help the team. Selwood is also getting targeted more which will be a learning curve for him & the other midfielders - once they learn to cope with that it will be better for the side, but its something they haven't had to worry about for a few yrs, until now its been about ABC, now S is in that mix.

After the 3rd quarter against the Tigers I thought we would lose & wanted to lose. I tipped us to lose last week due to our patchy form. If the Crows fire on the weekend we may well lose & its not a bad thing.

Brat, sorry for posting in the Cats site, but I was wondering how you saw the Cats form so far?

You guys are 3-0 but I must say there are some worrying signs (not major worries, but areas Bomber would like to address I'm sure).

In all 3 games your boys have drifted along for long periods and have been dominated.

Now I know we all probably judge the Cats a bit more harshly as they are the best in the business, but does it concern you at all?

I think the Cats will finish top again and are only a few little 'tweaks' away from giving someone a belting, but are they out of form and gutsing out wins, or in form and lazy? If it is the former, you guys are a chance of going undefeated, if it is the later there could be problems ahead!

This weekend I am almost inclined to tip the Crows, I won't because I'm a fairy :)

Oh, and don't respond to browny's bollocks, he's a tool!

not sure what is more laughable - the fact that you expect people to believe that, or the fact that you actually believe what sh!t you say.

Nothing with you and the Cats thread is a mistake - especially an honest one. When you have to open up the forum and dig up an old thread its not by mistake but on purpose.

And for the 5th time this week, stop calling me michelle

the only person with arrogance on this thread is you for even considering that other people and teams are arrogant when you have no reason to do so, because you continue to big note yourself & the Hawks and because you think because actually give a fack about what you say.
