jungle, you've got to be kidding. The only team that gets any preferential treatment from Victoria is the Pies with their draw and other stuff like the jumpers etc.

The interstate sides don't seem to be able to be reported sometimes. Barry Hall has not been sighted for striking or charging on two seperate occasions. Judd's eye gouge video evidence shoulda had him gone, why rely on word of mouth if the video proves otherwise.

I'll insult you, you punch me. (Tarrant and Co).

Baker and the Saints has had anything but preferential treatment by the AFL and the tribunal.

This all reminds me of the witnesses of a homicide....all afraid of saying something because in doing so it creates enemies with those committing the crime. Remember that scene in Copper? "Keith was watching a bullant crossing the table and I was watching Keith watching a bullant crossing the table"
Obviously he's been hit off play....what are they suggesting? That he just had a sudden blood nose and concussion out of the blue? Voss goes and changes his mind about 'what he saw'. The powers to be in the AFL are is so keen to create ways for dismissing this incident, even down to Lyons creating excused for Voss's withdrawal of his witness statement and Carey blowing it off as nothing. Sorry but typical bias towards the 'classic' Victorian clubs by the AFL.

hes a first time commentator and realised he made a dill of himself, saying yes/no about seeing something.as lyon said, him as a commentator if he saw it he would of said something.smells a bit to me,like he is hiding something...for once i think this time it had nothing to do with farmer.

Re:Jeff Farmer off play incident Reply to this message
Voss later said that he didn't see anything. He said he saw before and after but not the actual incident. He assumed what may have taken place, but backed down once he realised the implications of what he said.

Initially he was passing an assumption through as fact, he realised and retreated. His word wouldn't be evidence though, not reliable enough.

The trainers didn't spot Farmer until about 15 secs after he went down. I remember watching them and waiting until they started running out there. They didn't start to run for about 20s after the event.

I think you will find that there are witnesses just ask vossie in the commentary box 'he had better hope ther are no cameras behind the goal'quote. also check out the trainers as well. someone DID see the event and he has a case to answer.

There was just over 24,000. Pretty small crowd really.

It shouldn't matter who the player that it happened to is, but thats always the case. Baker has been charged multiple times with offences that no one else has ever been charged with.

Attempting to strike on a jumper punch comes to mind instantly. Surely the AFL couldn't suspend him for 'being near a player' as well.

I'm sure if it wasn't Jeff Farmer their would have been alot of hands up saying they saw the incident. It shouldn't matter who the player is

What I do not get, is tens of thousands of people are at the game, match officials, reporters, cameramen, photographers and let alone the thousands around australia watching the match...how the heck does this go totally un-noticed? Not one person, not even team mates...sorry but that is bulls**t!!

lol @buzz

Well Baker told his coach that there was nothing to worry about and he couldn't be reported for anything so whatever he did it must look worse then it was.

Without any video evidence nothing could happen from it. Thrown out due to lack of evidence would be my verdict. The days where you could trust players word have gone. We saw that during the week.

Apparently there is no video of the incident, so I doubt anything will come of it.
