Interesting to see Dodoro say that Zahakaris was the midfielder we were targeting, and that they had looked at him last year and followed his progress this year. Also David Dickson the Vic Metro coach saying we should target him at pick 5. Also doesnt hurt that he was a mad essendon supporter and was dying to get to the club. Hopefully the kid might surprise a few, as many are saying we had a very bad draft. I personally thought they did ok and picked nicely to our needs in the long term.

Nope, no relation to Henry. His father played for St Kilda and trained with the bombers at some time. Looks like a pretty good low pick as he has good endurance and pace and can play on both small to midsized forwards (he's 191cm) with a good ability overhead.

probably his younger brother - both recruited from West Adelaide, on Henry's wiki profile it says he is one of 4 brothers. Can't find anything anywhere thou that says they are related, but surely coming from the same area & having the same surname means something.

wouldnt be at all dissapointed with Hurley. Just will be hard to pass up on rich if he is available as it looks, and sidebottom is even an essendon supporter and has a really good tank.

Cant wait to find out which way we go. Personally im most torn between Hurley, Sidebottom, Rich and Yarren. Hurley and Rich have the bodies to compete next year. Both are true tough footy players with really solid skills. Sidebottom and Yarren are classy and have the X factor. Sidebottom has the tank to go all day and really good finishing both feet. Yarren has just an amazing goal sense and that ability to do the unexpected. Both could easily be match winners.
What a tough choice the recruiters have!!!

But if we go classy midfielder, boy the choice gets tough. If we want an allrounder, Sidebottom and Hill look the goods. If we want a ball winner, Rich, Hartlett and Ziebell all look the goods. Then there is the extremely classy Yarren, who has great goal sense and silky skills, but not quite ready for midfield yet. I just cant decide between these.

The KPB choice is really down to Hurley or Trengove. Both very good talents. Trengove the taller faster option, but missed alot of footy last year. Hurley has the question mark on his pace and height, but from the footage ive seen he has great positioning and reading of play, really strong punch and good mark, and a great kick off either foot. Also just looks really composed and classy with the ball in hand. So for me its Hurley if we go KPB at 5. Otherwise perhaps Lisle if we wait for pick 23.

Have been taking a bit of interest and this has to be the toughest draft to pick top 20. Last year at 6 bombers were really only deciding between 2 players. The more i look at this draft, the choice is between 2 types of players, Tall KP or classy midfielder, but there are many choices under those headings.
