Enjoy the trip and game Watto!! Am envious of you! the one game I would love to go and see is the An z ac clash. I saw them play 2 years ago on the return leg which was great but it would have been a diff. atmosphere!
Johns has been called up to help Lloyd so will be interesting to see how he goes! he replaces Lovett-Murray who was omitted! |

| Off to Melb and the MCG tomorrow to watch the big match from the pocket. Cant wait. Would have liked a few more of our best 22 out there, but if a few of the boys can keep improving their games a bit more, think we will have a great crack at the Pies. Was hoping to see Dempsey back and causing havoc off half back, but looks like will have to wait another week. Anyways, gunna be a great match. Go bombers. |

ok here are the membership numbers for each club at end of 2007, how many per cent each club has risen or fallen can only be really known at end of 2008
Beautiful Crows---50,976
West Coast--------45,959
Freo--------------43,343
Port--------------34,073
Sydney------------32,500
Brisbane----------21,976
as for the vic based clubs
Collingwood-------38,587
Carlton-----------35,433
Essendon----------34,219
Hawthorn----------31,065
St Kilda----------30,850
Geelong-----------30,169
Richmond----------30,044
W. Bulldogs-------28,725
Melbourne---------28,077
Kangaroos---------22,372
so i hope these numbers have been helpful, also even if essendon has increased by 6% and collingwoods remained the same (which i doubt very much) collingwood still is the vic club with most members followed by carlton then essendon, thanx adrian. |

| Judging by the crowd at Carrara our interstate fan base is still pretty strong. On the membership front, i think alot of fans were encouraged by the good signs from alot of our young fallas last year, and with a change in coach and the start of a new era, there is plenty of excitement in the bomber camp. The Lions game just highlights that there is alot of potential in these kids. I think we will top the 35000 and could push 40000 yet. Most importantly though, there are signs of improvement in skill level, defensive pressure and composure on the field from the youngens. Whatever this year holds there will be plenty of excitement and i think that reflects in our strong membership. |

| big deal we have finally given the flick to the vegies (still half a dozen to go) as i told you last year. four years wasted. has anyone ask why other teams have ready made players we end up with long term hopefuls who dont make it. pointless having the largest membership in vic if we are at the wrong end of the ladder and before you carry on old cantona and reckon i barrack for someone else you know from last year i was right |

Essendon leads Victorian membership
http://www.essendonfc.com.au/news/news.asp?nid=557 1
Monday, 11 February 2008
Essendon is first Victorian club to pass the magic 30,000 members mark with 30,003 fans now part of the team for 2008.
Customer Marketing Manager, Eartha Barclay, said fans continue to flock to the club with many bouyed by the strong showing of new recruits David Myers, Tayte Pears and Cale Hooker in Saturday's intra-club match at Casy Fields in Cranbourne.
"Overall, Essendon is 1,636 members (or 6 per cent) up on the same time last year," Barclay said.
"Junior memberships are continuing to have an excellent response, up 13 per cent on the same time last year."
The membership target for 2008 is 40,000, a feat never achieved before by the club.
"The strong membership - especially by our younger fans - highlights the excitement people have in seeing players like Leroy Jetta, Scott Gumbleton, Paddy Ryder and Courtenay Dempsey supporting our established stars," Barclay said.
"There is alot of excitement and anticipation surrounding Essendon's 2008 season and fans right across the country - and even overseas - are supporting their club by signing up as members." |
