the coverage is from the broadcaster. So if 10 or 7 have it, thats the commentary, otherwise its the fox coverage. The preseason games generally have no commentary. Its a pretty good deal. Looking at the archive the games go back to start of 2006 at the moment. Every single quarter. The history channel ran a best of hird, where they counted down his ten best games, showing one each week. Plenty of good stuff.

$20 a year for a non ess member. Can watch every game a few days after its played, including practice games at start of year. Also lots of old games, interviews, talks by coach and senior players, ect, etc. I have found it to be well worth it for an interstate fan.

aus - is the bombers tv worth joining up for?????? I have often thought about signing up for it!

I was an interstate member for a year but unfortunately I did not see any real value in it although since then they have changed it that you get tickets to any games that they play in WA but I am having to save the money since now being on single income with bubs at home with mum

his kicking isnt so bad either. In second half of year, saw him often hit leading targets 40-50m off either foot. It was pretty bad early in the year when he was under scrutiny, but he really improved it. And yes, he has a very good handball. Greg williams won a brownlow with his devastating handball skills.

pity you didnt get to see Hird's last performance or Scotty's huge last quarter against Weagles. Was quite something to see on tv, mjust have been great in the real deal, even if we did still lose.

im in Tas King, so only get to see 3 or 4 games a year max making the trip to melb. Bombers havnt been down here for a long time. So i am fairly rliant on what i see. I did watch every match on Bomber TV this year though, including some practice matches, so you get to see more for yourself and not be as reliant on media for imformation on team performance. I think once there is an idea in the media about lack of pace, or Jobes disposals for example, they just really play on it and often blow it out of proportion. To Jobes credit he really turned that arounf in the middle section of the year.

from what you say it sounds promising. Being in perth don't get to see much of the team and really only get whatI find on here and on their website. we had 2 games this year but cos of the sheeds & Hird last game tickets were sold out and were unable to get tickets. Freo game was hard to read as they were killed :(

oops. tried to slot hislop in twice :) But seriously, what do you think of these guys King. Can hardly be looked at as a slow list, just one that lacks experience and a bit of finishing polish. Hence why Knights is really focusing on ball handling and disposals this preseason.

Forgot Hislop, looks like a very likely type. And of course Jobe, the man with the least turn of speed, but boy can he win a contested ball in the center, and as his confidence and endurance improve, he is going to be a very good player for the bombers. All IMO of course.

of the guys with bigger bodies, mcveigh is up there in pace stakes. Mcphee and Lovett-Murray have plenty of pace, just need to learn to use the best option and improve disposal. Hislop looked to have good pace. Houli, Slattery and Nash are not superfast, but not slouches either. And from what ive heard Hocking should become a very good midfielder.

Re:Who needs to step up 2008 Reply to this message
i think the problem is more the lack of experience and afl hardened bodies of our faster guys, and at times our poor disposal skills. That is what hurt us most i think, not hitting targets. Guys like stanton and winderlich work their a r s e s off to make position, ball gets turned over alot and they have to work harder than most sides to get back.

Re:Who needs to step up 2008 Reply to this message
winderlich has pace to burn. Stanton has quite alot but seems to have worked harder on endurance. If you remember back to start of the year, before they were injured, both were really turning it on in the midfield. I for one think that their injuries are a large part of where we came unstick, along with Hird and Davy injuries against Geelong. I think we all know Davies has more pace than most in the league. Lovett when he uses it is right up there. And Dempsey is perhaps fastest of the lot, just needs to put on more body.

Midfield is obviously the key and its where we are youngest. Layc o c k was improving nicely at end of last year, but Hille really needs to get some consistency back. Watson, Winderlich and Stanton are solid and hoping they dont get hit by injuries like this year (they are the real key to the midfield i think). Angus Monfries needs to lift again. Liked the looked of Tom Hislop til he was injured. Nash has potential and will get more midfield time i think. Perhaps Mcphee could run off a wing, where he can inflict more damage up front. Slattery is good off half back. Injection of raw pace with Lovett, Davies spending time up front and in midfield, and Jetta up front. Then there are Houli and Hocking (who will provide a more solid body to the mix).
Its a young midfield but there is alot of promise there and the 3 key members i feel are underrated. Then there is the consistant Mcveigh, and experience in JJ and Pev. Who knows what we a capable of next year. The pressure may be too much for them, but these young guys may just surprise a few of those who have well and truly written the bombers off for the next 3 years.
