yeah, its a tough call on MJ. It often is with players in this situation. Without doubt he has been a loyal servent who has put everything he has into the bombers. Thats the tough bit. On an emotional level you definately dont want to see him go. On performance, well, he really put in this year again, but does seem to be starting to have trouble keeping up with play at times, and he could probably only really take the small forward role. With the young guys on the list, there may just not have been room to fit him in with the plans, especially when alot of them fill the same sort of role. Very sad to see him go though.

not sure on who I would of let go, but for me I would never have thought MJ would be shown the door!

I think Lovett and Lovett-Murray need to be hit with a stick to really do something they seem a bit pedestrian like.

JJ has not been seen.

McPhee needs to get back to his old ways or else I think he should be shown the door.

The jury for me is still out on Mal Michael

King, what other players do you feel could have been let go. There arnt too many experienced players left. Peveril performed admirably last year as a tagger racking up pocessions, although is lacking a bit of speed and finishing class. McPhee still cant quite seem to find consistant form, but really hoping he can turn that around. Not sure on JJ, as has been battling injury. Lovett-Murray really has to get it together with his disposals. Lovett needs to get consistancy and a bit more aggression, but he started to show good signs again towards end of year.

the 20-24 yo's are not the problem. Problem is the lack of 24-26 yo 100 gamers. I actually think there is loads of talent in the 19-24 age group, and given their chances they might just surprise. Perhaps you should worry more about your own probs in blue land. Atleast we are rebuilding without tanking games and being at the very bottom for years on end.

The dons will struggle for the next 4-5 as their 20-24 year olds are not good enough and their best players have either just retired or have 1-2 years left. Being a Carlton supporter I will be feeling their pain for the next few years. NOT!

hey scarps! :)

hope all is well!

yeah MJ going was a surprise to me! but you just gotta pin your hopes that they know what they are doing but it is obvious they are going to be focusing on the youth more then anything! but as previously said there are some other candidates that are better suited to giving the boot

with the list changes, we currently have 34 players on the list, that includes rama and hocking elevated from rookies. Is it 42 for the full list now? If so that leaves 8 spots, with you would think a max 5 coming from the draft. We have 2 more on rookies list, Dean D i c k and Danny Charters (both solid 190+ key positioners). So that would lead one to think they may be looking to take recycled players in the other draft. Given that our key pos stocks are good, it would have to be Ruckman and midfielders. Wonder who is available. Looking at current average age, before the draft, its already under 23. Next year is going to be another baby bombers.
