thanks scarpi. well there you go, bit surprised but looking at that situation of key players, was hard to find a spot for Kepler in the next few years. Hope injuries dont haunt us now. touching wood!!!

would be a real pity if he doesnt make something of himself. He was a top pick for a reason and certainly has shown some of that form in the two's, and even in a few senior games in his time. Early on it was just his endurance that seemed to hold him back. More recently lack of opportunities and confidence seems to be it. Hoping he atleast gets a bit more of a chance and really gives it a crack.

aus - I agree he would have to be on his last chance and really needs to follow up what appears to be a good year for bendigo and take it to the main team if not he will end up looking for another club or even worse end up at the dockers

the negative for him is we have Neagle and Gumbleton coming through as genuine key forwards who will get chances next year. Especially if Lloyd and Lucas remain fit. But in 2 or 3 years, there will be no Mal, Fletcher, Lloyd or Lucas. I wonder what chance he will be given next year.

time will tell. Last year he had greater opportunities with Lloyd out for year and no Mal Michael in side. He played all but one and showed definate promise at times. He was used alot in different positions. This year Lloyd was back, and Mal and Paddy mostly took the key back positions. Maybe if he is given one more decent oppertunity up front, he may surprise a few. Then again he may not. For sure you would think he is on his last chance. Wasnt the greatest draft in 2003 either!!! Take a look at the players picked above him.

Bradley tops Bendigo Best and Fairest
Tuesday, 18 September 2007
The Bendigo Bombers Best and Fairest awards was a night to remember for Kepler Bradley who not only took out the top award but also won leading goal kicker.
Bradley, who is listed with Essendon, played 15 games with Bendigo this season where he spent most of his time in attack.
"I was obviously pretty shocked to win the best and fairest because you don’t really even think about those sort of things during the season," Bradley said.
"I am very happy to have won the awards and they cap off what, really, has been a pretty disappointing year for me having struggled to cement a regular place in the senior side."
Despite initially being frustrated at spending large amounts of time in the VFL side, Bradley admits he has learnt a lot while playing under Bendigo coach Matthew Knights.
"I was hoping to get more opportunities to play in the senior line-up this season, but I made the most of my time with Bendigo and am really grateful for the advice Matty Knights has given me," Bradley said.
"He is a fantastic coach and gave me a lot of responsibility this year in Bendigo’s forward line in leading the forward line structures.
"He played a key role in my development and I hope that he gets the opportunity to coach an AFL side in the future because he is sensational at what he does." |
