| The prob with footballers nowdays is they have lots of money and lots of spare time on their hands. Give them a job to do during the day training in the arvo . Whats to say the gf didnt go up to smith and aggravate him first seeing that he was drunk and knew that he would say something back . Ppl always want to put bad press about our sport stars and never the good press like footy players going to junior presentations and seeing sick kids in hospital . It just annoys me that all we hear is the bad stories. |

Riddell said talking with Smith this week led to deep concerns that the Queenslander would walk away from the game if sacked.
"The bloke has never broken the law. You compare it to what other rugby league players have done over the years," he said.
Um, never "Broken the Law" or just lucky that no one has pressed charges.....YET. |

Troubled Parramatta halfback Tim Smith has checked himself into rehab for what the Eels describe as a number of complex issues after being suspended indefinitely by the NRL club today.
Smith was hauled before Eels boss Denis Fitzgerald in Sydney this morning after being caught drinking less than a week after agreeing to abstain from alcohol.
Last Friday Smith was fined $1,000 by the club and ordered to avoid alcohol for a year following a drunken incident.
There were fears the Eels would tear Smith's contract up.
But Eels teammates Mark Riddell and Brett Finch reportedly urged the club to help Smith rather than axe him. |

PARRAMATTA halfback Tim Smith could have his contract torn to shreds tomorrow following reports he has again been caught drinking.
Just five days after Smith promised to stay off the grog indefinitely, The Daily Telegraph has learned the Eels are once again investigating fresh alcohol claims.
The club was apparently given the report early this morning and even had to go and pick their star halfback up from the Tollgate Hotel in Sydney's west.
"We've had reports that Tim was out drinking, yes," Parramatta boss Denis Fitzgerald told The Daily Telegraph.
Eels coach Michael Hagan said Smith knew he had a drinking problem and would undergo counselling as part of his punishment for harassing a Sydney grandfather.
"Tim admitted he has a problem with alcohol and will continue to have counselling sessions with a leading specialist in alcohol-related behaviour," Hagan said in last week's statement.
Might be the same counsellor as Ben Cousins. hehehe. |
