I look at the players that actually played under them. Lehmann "he's the best captain I played under" Langer "not only is he a fantastic captain, he's as good a person as their is" Gilchrist "There is no doubt in my mind that Ricky Ponting is a born leader, both on and off the cricket field" Guys like Martyn, Hayden, Symonds and Lee have all come out and raved about the man's ability as a captain. Now, call me strange, but aren't THESE the people who would know? I've heared people bag Ponting at games for things that make your head sore - they clearly know very little about cricket tactics and therefore don't see what is actually happening on the field. |
