| From my personal opinion "Hicks" gave up all rights to be called an Aussie the day he started his training with the Taliban and A/Q. Treason it certainly is. But as mentioned the US farked up the procedure and he has not been prosecuted for his crimes. I am a proud ex-serviceman and very patriotic. Given the opportunity again I would without hesitation sign on the dotted line to serve my country again. |

| Boat people who arrive on Australian soil are entitled to free legal representation at the cost of the Australian taxpayers. Hence, Christmas Island was legislated by the Howard Govt not to be Australian soil, and by shipping them off to Nauru, the boat people no longer get taxpayer funded representation.
