| never mind, I think I found it: "I would like to ask you for any opinions on how we can head towards a solution?" There is no solution; that's pretty much my point. You said you'd "lost all respect" for nye basically because he has an opposing view to your own on a matter that you yourself admit has no "magic solution". I don't care if you disagree with someone, as I've said before that's what life is all about. I look at it this way: if I was going to make an attack on a country, and I was presented with these options: A. Pay a people smuggler half your life's earnings so you can get on an overcrowded fishing trawler of doubtful seaworthiness, and sail for weeks on end with only a remote prospect of reaching your destination and only the shirt on your back to show for it; B. Join a relatively well-funded, like-minded group who will feed, clothe and train you, and then fly you to your destination, I think I'd take option B, and I think most people would too. Turning away boat people is about as justifiable as kicking a chihuahua in self defence. The chihuahua might grab you by the throat and rip out your jugular... |

Therefore I have never made such a claim that you accuse me of "nye". But as usual none of you can back up your false claims. Yes when I am not injured or recovering from my current injuries I do travel around a bit and I do see things that desk jockies don't see. I also meet people that the likes previously mentioned do not get to meet. Should you feel the need to be "sorry" for me for my experiences then it is you who has the inferrior complex issues. BTW some onme else posted that this thread is for talking about other issues apart from "CRICKET"! |

| Kipsy, Howard had a point about the media trivialising Pauline Hanson, which actually allowed her to generate more public support - where as many would have simply seen her as the clown she was otherwise. The trouble I have with One Nation was that it appealed to the worst in people. If they were racist or h0m0phobic or whatever, they could air thier bigotry under the guise of political debate and the national interest. As you say, and I did earlier, we are all entitled to our opinions - Nev included. I will never agree with him on this, and he'll never agree with me, but who really cares? |

All that I know is that you have, on a few occassions, claimed to have done something/been somewhere that completely contradicts a previous claim. | Nev, I don't think you are a redneck - or whatever it is that is implied by the term. Does anyone know where the term came from? It's from the West Virginian coal miners and the battles that they had with the coal mine owners and their stand over men. Quite interesting actually. Everyone is entitled to their opinion - including Nev who should not be racially vilified or pigeon holed for being white anymore than than anyone else of a differnt persuasion should be. It's similar to what John Howard said yesterday in respect of Pauline Hanson: "I think the media trivialised and therefore did a disservice to our long-term national interest in suggesting that Pauline Hanson was all about racism and nothing else," he said. "Sure, there were some remarks she made that were quite objectionable, especially her suggestion that our country was being flooded with Asians. "I think she displayed a misunderstanding of the extent of, as a group, Aboriginal disadvantage in this country.
