Well it will take about 2-3 months before I get the bike back on road. It'll be about the same for my wrist. I won't be going on a track for years to come now so it shouldn't be a problem.

I have 5grand on the credit card to play with and my genius mechanic has retired and only performs work for certain ex-customers that he trusts and likes.

I think I fall into the catogory of being one that pays in advance & trust worthy.

Sure am as I can not afford a new bike yet. My weekly benefits are down to $380/week now and I am totally incapacitated for work. Yet when I get my cast off next week I will be fit for restricted duty and my weekly benefits go back up to $597/week.

theres your cost Nev - the transport and work costs.
If ya love the bike, its worth it but then, youve got to weigh up whether a new one a little down the track might not be a better investment.
Ive only ridden a factory Ducati a couple of times but my Bimota showed me, that theyre worth the cost if theyre a passion.

loki & red I have had a big let down and a bit of a pick me all in one.

It turns out that the 916 heads fit but the pistons don't. So I would have had to change things with lots of hassles.

But I bought my old motor back for 1 grand after selling it for $1,200. So the legendary mechanic will rebuild a complete motor from the 2 and soupe it up for me. So I should be saving $600 on the 916 parts and $800 on the chip and pipes. But may spend more on the labour and I have to transport the complete bike to Penriff now.
