Re:Good Budget
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has offered US Democrat presidential contender Hillary Clinton help with her campaign as the pair met in Washington before she headed to Pennsylvania to fight for her political survival.

The New York senator took time out from her heavy campaigning schedule to meet Rudd after he delivered a foreign policy speech to The Brookings Institution on Monday morning Washington time.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++

Who the Phuck does Kevin think he is !!! What a tool.

With Kev's help Hillary is bound to get in. I mean the whole of American has heard of Kevin Rudd so he will be a great help.

Take ur hand off it Kevin and come back here and help run ur country. Its struggling without u.

Remins me of Keating. Grandstanding.

Re:Good Budget
heya guys

just some input on this issue:

they should increase the cost of alchol. like yesterday i was able to buy 6 standard drinks for under $20. so by increasing the prices, us poor uni students wont be able to afford to drink.

Re:Good Budget
Drinking age to 21?
Yeh, like the yanks have no problems with alcohol abuse amongst teens and young adults!!
Cant see it solving any long term problems save shutting the puritans up for a few months.
Maybe, just maybe the responsibility lies within the family unit, but god forbid some people can take responsibility for their own actions. Whatever happened to educating our children and empowering them rather than turning a blind eye and singing la la la la really loudly?
I know its hard as parents and we all want only the best for our kids but you gotta earn your stripes just like we expect our kids to, parenting and the subsequent acquiring of related skills regardless of what some seem to think isnt an intrinsic genetic reality.

Re:Good Budget
Make it that all patrons have to spell correctly their drink orders - this prevents cretins and writeoffs ordering drinks
(XXXX and VB will not be allowed)

Re:Good Budget
how about the idea of a driking card. Like a licence right? So stay with me.........You must have that card to served alcohol (pubs, Bottle shops etc...anywhere), and you a certain amount of points that you can use. lets say 12 points. Drikning offences would carry a points fine. Drunk and causing a disturbance....6 points, aggressive behaviour while drunk....8 points etc. The police run it through a similar check to licences for verification and as soon as it goes over the point cap.....RIP! It gets taken off you and you are no longer allowed to be served grog. Yes I know that others can buy it, however if that person is caught buying fora non licence holder, then 12 points....BANG!!! Eventually no-one in the group can be served anymore.

Just a thought.

What do you think?

Re:Good Budget
guys, what is your thought on the idea of increasing the drinking age limit from 18 to 21?

I think it won't work in fact will have the opposite effect!

we already have underage drinking so they will triple this number quite easily! and will still not stop binge drinking!

I doubt there is a real solution considering drinking alcohol is the norm! everyone does it and it is easy to get hands on!

they can't stop the drug problems which is supposedly illegal so how are they going to cut down on over-use of something that can be bought on just about every corner!

Re:Good Budget
OOPS :- LONDON (Reuters) - Four hundred people were trapped on the London Eye for more than an hour while engineers fixed a mechanical fault, a spokeswoman for the riverside tourist attraction said on Tuesday.
Sightseers were suspended up to 450 feet above the ground on Monday night as workmen repaired one of the four huge tires that turn the observation wheel.

Re:Good Budget
yeh, give it a go mip if you get the chance - a lot of fun but when theyre amped up theyre bloody hard to stay on. If youre in the habit of holding team building days or similiar, theres a mob called Planet Entertainment, they do all sorts of that stuff, mech bulls, sumo suits, horizontal bungee etc - lot of fun. I used to book them a lot when i worked for TAFE for student activities.
