there are grounds for having kept him out of the test team, albeit a bit shaky.
but he certainly should have been in our twenty20 team, and probably in our one day team. many agree he is the best, or at least one of the best twenty20 batsmen in world cricket.
the fact he wasnt in that team (whose performance has been poor) is probably what throws doubt on the reasons for his test ommission.
but who knows! perhaps in a few months he will bring out a book and let us know what really happened (if anything) between him and the selectors (everyone seems to suspect a rift between him and hilditch) |

Ben Hilfenhorse has more runs on the board then Abbott.
But, If Abbott is voted leader of the opposition, how long before he crosses the parliament floor during question time and headbutts Kevvy Rudd ?? |

dont think the Victorians would like being called the idiot population though.
Fevola leaves town, and Mason arrives
More or less confirms Newtons 3rd law, doesnt it?
Hodge is going to release a book called "where's Hodgey" featuring crowd shots of all the Australian cricket grounds
Apparently, he gave a trial copy to Andrew Hilditch, who spent 6 hours trying to find Brad Hodge without success. |

Not just here Goat, but everywhere that people talk cricket. The constant "where's Hodge"? calls are pi55ing me off.
Mind you, his retirement won't stop that - people still call for Symonds to be named in the test side!
Chucker - Mason ISN'T going to the Storm, the club said straight out that they couldn't afford him. It makes for a fun story by the bored media looking to convince the idiot population though. |

What the hell are you on about. I don't remember one RECENT thread or post calling for Hodges return. Even I agreed that he was never going to get another run NOW. Even Hodge conceeded as much which is why he felt able to speak on the subject with impunity.
That's not to say that he shouldn't have been considered for the recently failed Ashes tour. |

Hodge retired??
Well good luck to him
Will leave a giant hole in Victorian sport, and to make up for it, the Melbourne Storm are apparently going to sign Willie Mason hahahahahahahahahha
****, that IS a funny story. Made my day.
But, there will be a push on these boards to include Hussey jnr, Rogers and McGain in the test team for the rest of the season no doubt. |

The bloke's retiring.
He's 34 years old and looking to have some quality family time. Thank fark we can now drop all the bull5hit about him not being in the Test side - HE WAS TOO OLD TO BRING BACK!
Good luck with the future Hodge, a tremendous state player. Unlucky not to play more Test cricket, but the talent pool in Aussie cricket has been deep. |
