The trouble with the MOTM award is that it is hard to give to a player on a side that has lost by an innings.
But in the Aussie side we had a string of GOOD performers but no GREAT performances.
Hilfy took 5 wickets, including Gayle LBW twice. Hauritz took 5 wickets, all tail enders, but added a 50.
Katich, North, Ponting and Hussey all scored half centuries too.
I think they did the old 'eenie, meenie, miney, moe' method of MOTM selection! |

Fark mon we actually agree on something.
Barath's debut century is worthy and got my vote for MOTM but I am insignificant. |

ridiculous decision, nothing against Ben but he wasn't even the outstanding performer on the team.
The best performance in the game was Barath's century. |

kazdazmac & wowwazza... you two could bowl this pitiful WIndies side out by yourselves...
"Shame about this joke is that the West Indies players just do not have a sense of humour."

| I think you are under-rating Hauritz ability to make orange juices. |

Curator says its designed to turn and be spin friendly from day 4 - thus Hauritz's inclusion.
Problem being that the liklihood is it wont go 4 days and his presence will be superfluous. |

The Gabba favours bowling - pace and spin
Warne and MacGills best ground in test matches statistically is the Gabba
Hauritz is the number one aussie spinner atm playing at the ground that is essentially his home ground. The Aussies have 3 quicks and Watson.
Hauritz is a better option than another quick . |

A T20 exhibition is pretty much the same thing as a Test match....no?
I think after the Oval debacle, Australia will play at least one spinner for a pretty long time, unless it's an absolute greentop |

In that recent T/20 exhibition match in Brisbane where the first test will be played, Warne and Krejza took the combined figures of 08-0-77-0...
so I am completely missing the point of Hauritz being selected... a four man pace attack with North thrown in would finish of the WIndies inside 4 days...
maybe Hauritz is there to help out the WIndies perhaps and help them score a few runs??? |
