shep was a top umpire and a top man!
this was no homer, just a genuine said it as he
saw it umpire, no matter what!
plus he had a sense of humour, a rare species
in today's faceless umpires! |

Old Shep he has gone
Where the good doggies go
And no more with old Shep will I roam
But if dogs have a heaven
There's one thing I know
Old Shep has a wonderful home |

I agree, he was always one of the very best - and a true character of the game. Somehow, I always felt he's pass on the 11th of January or 22nd of Feb!
RIP. |

One of the best umpires. He and Dickie Bird were a great partnership
