Yup a washout saves the Injuns from ANOTHER humiliating loss to an Aussie reserve D side.
Aussies WIN SERIES 4-2 haha.
I can see Des now lying on the ground stamping his feet and hands like a spoiled 2 year old brat.

Surely that is obvious isn't it? It's that Timmy bloke I don't like, fancy thinking Dom Thornley should be the Test skipper - he makes me soooo angry!!! :P

Re:Aus vs India ODIs Reply to this message
Totally agree with you AdriansH about Hodgey. If scoring runs in the SShield & One Day Domestic comp is a pre-requisite for selection, which all the so called experts say it is, then he should be the first man picked. He's a run scoring machine, AND, he's performed very well before at international level. I think maybe Ricky might not be a fan!

Looks like Ponting reads the CoU

Ricky Ponting considers line-up shuffle for seventh ODI against India in Mumbai

Ricky Ponting says his weary Australia team are likely to call on a trio of new faces for Wednesday's seventh and final one-day international against India.

Re:Aus vs India ODIs Reply to this message
Actually on the whole "team of rookies" thing, that is one of the reasons that I've quite enjoyed watching this series - what with all the injuries, it's given quite a few blokes who I rate a chance to have a trundle around in the green & gold.

Heck - we've still got 24 hours before the match starts - let's put the call in to the chubby blogger Geeves. He could go straight from the airport to the ground - no worries.

Re:Aus vs India ODIs Reply to this message
How good would that have been. The Shield season starts with all the fit Aussie players competing.

It would add extra interest in what is a top-shelf domestic comp.

yes I agree, it's a great victory but the series should never have happened, all these guys should be at home playing Shield and preparing for the coming summer

Re:Aus vs India ODIs Reply to this message
We're not still talking about what a pointless series it is because we've flogged that dead horse!

It IS pointless and it IS something the ICC needs to fix, these series serve no purpose other than to stuff a few extra dollars into the pockets of people that don't need it!

And if it did mean something I doubt we'd be saying they should play all the rookies and rest the in form blokes. Even dead rubbers in important series are games you want to win!!!!

Re:Aus vs India ODIs Reply to this message
You know, I just noticed that now that we're going to win the series, everyone's stopped talking about what a pointless, meaningless series this is, that's being played just for the $$$.

Funny, that.

Anyway, my take on this series is that India have fallen for their classic mistake that they always make - picking on reputation and not on form. Guys like Yuvraj and Sehwag who've got their spots in the name not on the basis of their performance in domestic cricket but on their record and their name.

And, let me just say that despite his historic innings, Sachin has also been pretty average in their series - 5 matches for 100 runs other than the obvious. If it only took one innings to cement your spot, well then Border and Jones wouldn't be talking about dropping Hussey for Hughes and Hodge would still be in the creams.
